Maldives Promotion House – For this December Six Senses Laamu has brought in one of Spain’s best known chefs. Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz will be at Six Senses Laamu until 16th December and is also teaching some of his tricks to the guests. On December 15th taste a five Course Signature Mugaritz Menu and on December 16th learn his secrets at the Cooking Class. The dinner is for USD 220++ per person, and the Cooking Class is for USD 175++ per person.
Andoni Luis Aduriz, at the age of 36, is the winner of Spain’s National Gastronomy Prize in 2002, ‘Chef of the Year’ and ‘Patissier of the Year’ according to the guide Lo major de la Gastronomía and the Euskadi Gastronomy Prize for the best restaurateur in 2003 according to the Basque Academy of Gastronomy. He is the owner and chef of “Mugaritz Restaurant” in San Sebastian, Spain that was called World’s 3rd Best Restaurant in 2011.
His cuisine is local and hyper-seasonal that is progressive, innovative, and tied deeply to the earth. Regardless of what Aduriz chooses to explore, his philosophy remains rooted in respecting nature’s bounty, as exemplified by Mugaritz. With a backdrop of rolling hills and farmland, the restaurant resembles a rustic countryside farmhouse. Behind Mugaritz is an herb and vegetable garden that supplies the restaurant. Aduriz also forages the surrounding area for wild mushrooms, flowers, leaves, and plants. This avant garde ground-breaker has one foot in the lab and one foot in the earth.
