Published

on

Maldives.net.mv – In celebration of Global Wellness Day (Saturday, June 11, 2016) Four Seasons Resorts Maldives are once again pushing out the boat – and kayaks – to encourage guests and staff alike to celebrate and connect in style.

Joining more than 3,000 wellness initiatives in 100 countries across the globe, the festivities will form part of one of 2016’s longest celebrations of the year – which last year panned all time zones, from sunrise in Fiji to sunset in Hawaii.

At Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, the celebratory wellness day starts at 7:00 am with an hour of Tai-chi Chuan and Qigong. Guests will then be encouraged to spend the day exploring the island’s complimentary natural wellness activities: from swimming, kayaking and snorkelling in the lagoon and Coral Gardens to connecting with self and surroundings on the Yoga Energy Trail.

At 5:30 pm, a group run is planned – beginning at Blu and continuing around the entire island – to promote change and unity, health, exploration and wellbeing. The day will end with Wellness Blooming Yoga at 9:00 pm to relax and rejuvenate body and mind.

Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa will be celebrating the day with a complimentary wellness itinerary for staff and guests of all ages, starting with two yoga sessions: 7:00 am at the Pool Deck for adults, followed by 10:30 am in Kids Club.

Next, there’s the chance to learn about juice blends and super food salads during a Healthy Food Cooking Class at Baraabaru, before heading to Turtle Beach for Laughter Yoga at 5:30 pm. As the day winds down, the Marine Discovery Centre will host a Pranic Healing / Vedanta talk at 6:15 pm before starlit meditation at 9:30 pm at Turtle Beach.

Commenting on the Resorts’ events, Sandie Johannessen – Director of Landaa’s Spa and Ayurvedic Retreat – commented, “Global Wellness Day is such a fantastic initiative and something we are extremely proud to be a part of.  Wellness is integral to the ethos and offerings at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives, from powerful treatments and therapies to simply getting active – or being still – in nature.  It’s about living well and continually moving forward on a journey of physical, emotional and spiritual transformation. We hope we inspire and re-inspire everyone taking part with us this Saturday.”

Happy Global Wellness Day to all from Four Seasons Resorts Maldives!
