Anantara Maldives Wins Awards From Wine Spectator
Maldives Promotion House – Three restaurants from Anantara resorts in Maldives have taken away the highly coveted ‘Award of Excellence 2011’ from the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine.
The 2011 Wine Spectator Dining Guide listed more than 3,700 restaurants worldwide. Three of the nine restaurants to receive the award included Anantara Veli’s Geckos, Anantara Dhigu’s Fuddan and sister property – Naladhu’s The Living Room.
“Wine Spectator magazine is known worldwide as a guide to the world’s best wines and we are honoured to be part of the Wine Spectator awards which recognises restaurants that show passion and commitment when it comes to wine,” CEO Minor Hotel Group, owner of Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas, Dillip Rajakarier said.
“Our brand promise is to bring travellers closer to local cultures, food and experiences, and with our first class restaurants and wine cellars we believe our guests can walk away with an amazing culinary experience,” he added.
The Award of Excellence is awarded each year by Wine Spectator to restaurants that offer at least 100 different wine selections from a diverse spectrum of geographic origins and grape varietals. Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
