Prince Pieter-Christiaan Michiel from Netherlands Visits Maldives

Maldives Promotion House – Prince Pieter-Christiaan Michiel of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven of the Netherlands, recently made a visit to Maldives.

Prince Peiter-Christiaan is the third son of Princess Margriet, younger sister of current monarch of the Netherlands Queen Beatrix.

During his visit he met with President Mohamed Nasheed. During their meeting the president noted the significant increase of engagements between the Maldives and the Netherlands over the past few years.

He also noted some of the major projects in the Maldives by Dutch Docklands and Royal Boskalis Westminster of the Netherlands.

Speaking about his visit Prince Pieter-Christiaan said that he was in Maldives as part of a dive group that conducts regular visits to the Maldives.

Prince Pieter-Christiaan also updated the President on a Dutch renewable energy project and a proposed project on climate adaptation in the Maldives.

Prince Pieter-Christiaan has three brothers, Prince Maurits, Prince Bernhard and Prince Floris. As of 24th July 2010 Prince Pieter-Christiaan is a Knight of the Order of Saint John in the Netherlands.
