Visit Maldives launches campaign with Spain’s Passporter App
Visit Maldives has launched a campaign with Passporter App, Spain’s leading travel application.
As part of the campaign, top influencers from Spain arrived in the Maldives on Tuesday to showcase the destination on the Passporter App.
Famous travel and lifestyle influencers Aida Domenech Pascual, Alba Paul Ferrer, Paula Gonzalez Nuñez and Jonathan Bettran Wiergo are staying in Maldives from April 13-20.
Passporter App is a widely used platform which connects destinations with travelers. The app has been number one in downloads under the travel category in the Spanish market and has won many prestigious awards in the photography and travel segments.
With over 500,000 unique users and over 82,000 followers on Instagram, contents published on the platform will reach a large audience with more than three million engagements and 400,000 likes for the posts.
The influencers are hosted by Cocoon Maldives, Fushifaru Maldives and Kuramathi Maldives along with their content creation team during their one week stay in the island destination.
During their stay, they will engage in several recreational and wellness activities such as turtle quest snorkelling, water sports, sunset cruises, semi-sub, yoga and luxury spa treatments.
In addition, they will taste signature cuisines and take part in Maldivian cooking class among many other unique experiences.
Four itineraries will be created to be featured on the Passporter App showcasing the unique experiences captured during their trip to the Maldives.
The influencers will promote the destination through their social media handles and on Passporter’s profile.
The exposure from this fam trip will reach a wide Spanish audience through the Passporter app along with a massive combined fan following of over nine million from the influencers’ social media handles.
Spain is one of the key markets for Maldives tourism with over 36,064 tourist arrivals recorded in 2019.
Spain emerged as one of the top markets right after Maldives reopened its borders in July 2020. As per latest statistics published in February, 4,307 Spanish tourists have arrived in the Maldives since the border reopening.
Visit Maldives aims to keep the destination presence in the Spain market and inspire the travellers and promote Maldives as a safe destination.
Several promotional activities are in the pipeline such as participation in the upcoming travel trade fair FITUR 2021 among other promotional activities.
In addition to market specific promotional campaigns, global campaigns such as campaigns with Expedia and TripAdvisor are also simultaneously being carried out to promote the destination.

Maldives Mahautsav 2025: bringing the Sunny Side of Life to India
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) announced the Maldives Carnival 2025, ‘Maldives Mahautsav,’ organised by Pickyourtrail and endorsed by Visit Maldives. The event took place from January 11th to 12th, 2025, at the Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, India, and was officially inaugurated by Aishath Azeema, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to India. The two-day event offered interactive activities and immersive experiences, highlighting the unique offerings available in the Maldives, also known as the Sunny Side of Life.
The Maldives Carnival 2025 included 17 resort booths where visitors could explore premium resort options and learn about the distinctive islands of the Maldives. Representatives from Pickyourtrail were present at each booth to provide personalised information and engage with attendees, offering tailored travel advice. Various activities were also designed to bring elements of the Maldives experience to life for the Indian audience.
The event aimed to connect Indian travellers with the Maldives’ unparalleled beauty and luxury, particularly during the peak North Indian wedding season. It highlighted opportunities for honeymoons, destination weddings, and other memorable getaways. Organised by Pickyourtrail, the initiative provided resorts with a platform to showcase their exceptional offerings to the Indian market.
