Sheraton Brightens Guest Diets with Launch of ‘Colour Your Plate’

Maldives Promotion House – Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is encouraging guests to get ready for summer by adding a little colour to their diet. Starwood’s global powerhouse has announced its new approach to nutrition with Colour Your Plate by Sheraton Fitness, a dining program that makes it easy for travellers to eat healthy on the road. All it takes is adding three colours from fruits and vegetables to your plate to help stay in shape and increase energy while travelling. The new menus are also great for your waistline – all featured items are 500 calories or less. The program is the latest extension of Sheraton Fitness programmed by Core Performance and is now available at more than 400 hotels worldwide.
“Travelling used to be an excuse for poor nutrition,” said Core Performance Founder, Mark Verstegen whose nutrition and research team developed the new program. “Sheraton is now offering an innovative and easy way for guests to enjoy healthy, delicious meals on the road.”
Colour Your Way to a Healthier Diet
The Colour Your Plate initiative incorporates Core Performance’s “Nutrition Colour Code” to educate Sheraton guests about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. All menu items feature colourful, key nutrients from fruits and vegetables to ensure all meals represent the perfect dietary balance.
· Yellow foods: optimize brain functions
· Green foods: rejuvenate musculature and bone
· Orange foods: support skin and eye health
· Red foods: support heart and circulatory health
· White foods: enhance immune system, lymph system and cellular recovery
· Purple foods: promote microcirculation
The branded menus also follow the Core Performance philosophy by offering well-balanced meals that provide proper fuel for the body. With the new menus available at restaurants and in-room dining, guests now have access to a global library of nutritious, tasteful dishes no matter where their travels take them.
In 2007, Sheraton partnered with renowned training experts Core Performance to develop Sheraton Fitness Programmed by Core Performance – the brand’s signature fitness offering that lets guests use the strategies developed by the leading experts in pro-athlete training to become the ultimate road warrior. This alliance marked the first time that Core Performance partnered with a hotel company to create customized training and nutrition programs for travellers. Colour Your Plate is the newest extension of Sheraton Fitness and the brand’s approach to nutrition.
“The last thing people have time to think about on the road is getting the nutrients they need,” adds Amanda Carlson-Phillips, MS, RD, CSSD, Vice President of Nutrition and Research at Core Performance. “By brightening their plates with colourful fruits and vegetables, we hope the program encourages travellers to re-think their nutrient needs while still enjoying the tasty menu items they have come to expect from Sheraton chefs.”
Colour Your Plate offers a variety of flavoursome, well-balanced menu options, including: Skirt Steak Chimichurri, Shrimp Tacos, Portobello Burger and All-Natural Roasted Turkey BLT with lemon mustard aioli.
Starwood has spent the last few years renovating and rebuilding one of the hotel industry’s most iconic brands and Sheraton now stands better than ever with the strongest portfolio in its history. The brand is gaining market share, RevPAR continues to rise, guest satisfaction scores are the highest in the brand’s history and likelihood to return, likelihood to recommend and meeting planner and associate engagement scores are also at all-time highs – signalling that guests are taking notice and rediscovering the new Sheraton, and increasing the brand’s appeal to owners and developers.

Chef Fabrizio’s menu will be complemented by vintages from five wine partners. New to this year’s line-up is Bottega SpA, Italy’s award-winning winery, which will present its wines alongside three artisanal Grappas. Returning partners include Champagne Guy Charbaut, Bodegas Viñátigo, Glenelly Estate, and Martín Códax, offering a broad selection to pair with the dishes.
“Food should thrill you. It should challenge what you think you know,” commented Chef Fabrizio. “It is a privilege to share my culinary philosophy in such a remarkable setting. That is why I continue to return to Just Veg Festival – it is a space where we can experiment, surprise, and create something worth remembering.”

Around the world with Michelin Stars: Anantara Veli unveils 2025 guest chef lineup

Anantara Veli Maldives Resort has announced the return of its Around The World Michelin Star Guest Chef Series for 2025, promising unforgettable culinary journeys with a sustainable twist.
In alignment with the resort’s commitment to sustainability, this year’s Michelin-starred guest chefs are incorporating eco-friendly elements into their menus. These initiatives include the use of local ingredients from the resort’s Chef’s Garden, adapting menus to feature the catch of the day, or creating zero-waste dishes.
Reflecting on the inaugural series, Chef Francis Purification, Culinary Director of Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, recalled how Chef Gary Foulkes of Angler Restaurant prepared a remarkable wahoo dish, utilising the fish to its fullest extent, even creating a rich bouillabaisse with its bones. Inspired by that memory, Chef Francis decided to challenge this year’s lineup of chefs to bring their own innovative approaches to the table.
Chef Francis remarked, “The Maldives presents unique challenges in terms of sustainability in the kitchen since most ingredients need to be imported. Fortunately, we have a passionate purchasing team working with suppliers who share our sustainability goals.”
The 2025 series begins on February 27 with culinary power couple Chef Michelle Goh and Chef Pongcharn “Top” Russell of Mia Restaurant in Bangkok, who will introduce modern European cuisine infused with Asian influences.
On March 13, Chef Melvin Chou of Terra Tokyo Italian in Singapore will showcase his signature fusion of Japanese food culture and Italian cuisine. Known for his creative use of seasonal ingredients, Chef Melvin’s omakase menu masterfully merges two distinct culinary traditions.
Chef Oli Marlow of Roganic Hong Kong, renowned for his commitment to zero-waste cooking, will appear on April 17. Inspired by his mentor Simon Rogan, Chef Marlow is on a journey to establish his own culinary legacy.
On May 22, Malaysian-born Chef Victor Liong of Lee Ho Fook in Melbourne, Australia, will bring a Chinese culinary experience, while Chef Arnaud Dunand of Maison Dunand in Bangkok will deliver refined French cuisine on June 5.
Michael Parker, Complex General Manager of Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, expressed excitement for Chef Victor Liong’s visit, noting, “Having lived in China for eight years, I appreciate the diversity and provincial influences in Chinese cuisine. I look forward to seeing how Chef Victor’s creations might evoke nostalgic memories.”
British culinary talent will also be spotlighted, with Chef Ricki Weston of The Dining Room at Whatley Manor cooking on July 24 and Chef Adam Smith of Woven by Adam Smith in Ascot appearing on September 4.
Returning on October 30 for the second consecutive year, Chef Simon Hulstone of the Michelin-starred Elephant in Torquay will once again captivate guests. Last year, Chef Hulstone impressed with his squid risotto and a beautifully cured sea-bass dish. He expressed enthusiasm for the sustainability element this year, noting that he enjoys collaborating with the resort’s kitchen team and interacting with guests.
The series will conclude on December 4 with Chef Jeremy Gillon, known as the “vegetable whisperer,” who will present a menu featuring sustainable innovations during his second appearance at Anantara Veli.
Chef Francis highlighted the series as not only an exceptional dining experience for guests but also an invaluable opportunity for the resort’s culinary team. “Over the last two series, our chefs have had the privilege of working alongside world-renowned talents, gaining exposure to a range of techniques and perspectives,” he said.
The Around The World Michelin Star Guest Chef Series offers an exclusive dining experience for 24 guests at Anantara Veli’s Japanese restaurant, Origami. Each evening features a curated menu paired with fine wines.
