Kurumba Maldives has appointed Andrew Jansson as its General Manager.
Andrew joins Kurumba Maldives from Minor International, where he oversaw three of the company’s hotels in Thailand — Anantara Riverside and Avani Riverside in Bangkok, as well as Avani+ Luang Prabang and Mekong Kingdoms in Luang Prabang — over the past three years.
Hailing from Sewden, Andrew brings over two decades of extensive experience in food and beverage as well as hotel management, having worked with international hotel chains in 14 countries, including the US, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Oman and China.
As Andrew takes charge of Kurumba Maldives, his previous experience working in the island nation makes him uniquely positioned to contribute to the continued strategic development of the historically significant property.
Andrew first arrived in the Maldives in 2009, joining the pre-opening team of Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa as its Director of Food and Beverage. After a four-year break, Andrew returned to the Maldives in 2013 to take up the position of Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage at One&Only Reethi Rah. He spent three years at the ultra-luxury resort, during which he was promoted to the post of Resort Manager.
