Bandos Maldives inaugurates apprenticeship program

Bandos – Bandos Maldives has inaugurated its apprenticeship program on Thursday to develop young Maldivians as the next generation of hospitality hospitality leaders

The program is conducted in collaboration with Swiss College of Hospitality Managment, Lenk (SHML) and Swiss Institute for Management & Hospitality (Swiss IM&H).

During the course of one year program apprentices will be given the opportunity to train in all areas of the hotel operation. After completion participants will be awarded with a Swiss academic certificate and a professional certificate.

The program is joined by 20 young and energetic Maldivians, scouted and handpicked from different ​atolls. All are fully funded by Bandos Maldives.

During the welcome speech Hassan Saeed, Bandos Maldives’ Director of Learning and Development said even though is the biggest employer and income generator, we are still short of skilled Maldivians to lead the industry, especially at the senior management level. He also highlighted on Mr. Waheed Deen’s commitments to develop people and empower youth.

Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham awarded to apprenticeships. She talked about the importance of skill development of young Maldivians in different areas and thanked Bandos Maldives for their initiative.
