Taste of Maldives cover

Maldives.net.mv – Orietta and Claudia, mum and daughter, together with people of Keyodhoo island, in Felidhoo Atoll wrote Taste of Maldives, a great cookbook about the Maldivian cuisine. It’s not just a book with recipes but a real tribute to their love for this country with incredible photos, tells and stories about the every day life in local islands.

They fell in love with Maldives more than 20 years ago: at the beginning the were amazed by the wonderful landscapes and by the relaxing life but they soon discovered that the Maldivian cuisine was something special. Healthy products, tasty combinations and many traditional dishes handed down from generation to generation.

Taste of Maldives internalTaste of Maldives has 200 pages and available in English, Russian, Italian and Chinese. It includes 5 chapters that represent 5 of the main ingredients used in Maldivian cuisine: spices, tuna, fish, fruits and coconut. Together with traditional dishes such as mass huni, devil fish or tuna noodles, you can find modern recipes created using local products: what about spaghetti with Rihaakuru?

The authors created Taste of Maldives for all food lovers: for the tourists that visit Maldives every year,  for those that visited this country in the past and fell in love with it and for those that dream a holiday in paradise. The book is something special that allows every one to cook simple and tasty dishes in London, Moscow or Milan thinking about Maldives.

Published in April, from May till October was available at Expo. Now you can find it on Amazon, at the shop “Spice Island” located in Male International Airport in the Maldives, in some resort such as Kuramathi Island Resort, in some shops in Male City and in many guest houses.
