Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives Wins Gold at the AEC Culinary Challenge 2015

Kandooma chefs – Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives is proud to announce that its culinary team won the prestigious “Gold Medal” from the recently concluded Asian Economy Countries (AEC) Culinary Challenge 2015 held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) last September 2-5, 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Executive Chef Vincent Tan together with Chef Nguyen Truong Luat and Chef Truong Vinh Co representing the resort, participated in the competition which was themed “Inspire and Create the ASEAN Cuisines of Tomorrow”, organized by the Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd., BES through its Food and Hotel Thailand (FHT) 2015 program, a premium international 5-star food and hospitality trade event in Thailand.

AEC Culinary Challenge 2015 was participated by 8 countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Holiday Inn Resort®Kandooma Maldives represented Vietnam and turned out to be the competition’s grand winner by preparing, cooking, and presenting cuisines famous from the seven competing nations. Thailand took home silver while Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar reaped the bronze award.
