Hulhule Island Hotel’s Uduvilaa bags four titles at World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2018

Uduvilaa Restaurant at Hulhule Island Hotel (HIH) has bagged four accolades at World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

At the 2018 World Luxury Restaurant Awards Gala held at the Galgorm Resort and Spa on July 14, Uduvilaa received three continental titles: Luxury Hotel Restaurant, Eclectic/International Cuisine, and Haute Cuisine in Indian Ocean.

The restaurant was also presented with a country award for featuring the best Luxury Scenic Setting in Maldives.

Uduvilaa, “sky amongst clouds” as per local Dhivehi language, is an exclusive award-winning rooftop restaurant located on the fourth storey where guests can savour delectable and elaborate international, Asian and Maldivian cuisine while enjoying the spectacularly panoramic view of the azure skies, the aqua waters, the harbour and the brightly lit up skyline of capital Male.

An extensive food menu and an impressive wine list are on offer, while the team at Uduvilaa ensures that dining becomes an unforgettable experience.

HIH, the only hotel located on the airport island of Hulhule, provides free two-way shuttles to Velana International Airport, just five minutes’ drive away. With 136 guest rooms in various categories, HIH boasts a private beach, an outdoor pool and a golf putting green.

The hotel has six food and beverage options. Offering an international menu, Uduvilaa features glass walls overlooking the sea, while the 24-hour Faru Coffee House specialises in European, Japanese and Italian dishes.

Guests can enjoy a game of tennis or beach volleyball, or exercise in the fitness centre. Massages and body treatments are offered at the spa, which also features a sauna.

With more than 100,000 votes cast for over 1,000 entrants in 78 categories, the World Luxury Restaurant Awards recognise restaurants across the globe for their culinary excellence and memorable experiences, as well as assessing the quality of the atmosphere and service. The awards aim to provide luxury restaurants with increased recognition as well as introduce them to potential new guests, both local and international. Votes come from both guests and industry experts, thus providing a balanced and unbiased outcome based on the food experience as a whole.
