Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa receives Green Globe Gold Status

Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has achieved the Green Globe Gold Status for the first time.

In a statement, the resort credited its Sustainability Management Plan for having received the prestigious status.

“We acknowledge our presence in this atoll impacts the fragile ecosystem and endeavour to minimise our footprint through a commitment to protect both the environment and local communities via education through environmentally conscious actions and positive knowledge sharing,” Mariano Silvestri, General Manager at Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, was quoted in the statement as saying.

The prestigious Gold Status designation is only possible when a Green Globe member meets all requisite criteria within the Green Globe Standard for Travel and Tourism (or their sectorial Standard) and have completed the independent and  mandatory onsite and desktop audits in alternating years.

Gold Status is not automatically granted upon completion of these base requirements, but is awarded after a review of overall member performance during the five-year period to ensure that continuous  effort has been made in the key themes: Sustainable Management; Social/Economic; Cultural Heritage; Environment.

Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, which opened in 2009, currently offers 16 Park Villas and 20 Park Pool Villas, seven Park Water Villas and seven Park Water Sunset Villas. The resort, located in the southern Gaafu Alif atoll, offers luxurious amenities, a host of recreational activities, and relaxing and rejuvenating treatments.
