Maldives wins awards at Seven Star Global Luxury Awards

Seven – Maldives has won the “Seven Star Destination Winner” and “Special Achievements Award” at the prestigious Sevent Star Global Luxury Awards 2014 held at the Chateau Spa & Wellness Resort, Malaysia on 14th June 2014.

Maldives won the award for “Seven Star Destintion Winner” for been the best destination after competing with Dubai, Seychelles, Mauritius and Singapore.

The Minister of Tourism Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor won the award for the “Outstanding Achievement in Tourism” category for having maintained the flow of Tourism in the Maldives through extraordinary times and achieving 1,000,000+ visitors in the year 2013. 

This is the second year in a row Maldives secured this prestigious awards having won the same categories in 2013. The award was presented by former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamed and Managing Director of MMPRC, Abdulla Ziyath received the awards on behalf of Maldives.

Tourism minister Adeeb stated that the Seven Star Destination Winner belongs to the tourism industry partners of Maldives who have been working hard to develop the industry and maintain high standards. In addition Ziyath thanked the organizers of the awards for the excellent arrangements.

The Seven Star Luxury Awards are known as an exclusive international luxury award for the pinnacle in hospitality & lifestyle. The award recognises and sets apart the extraordinary achievements in the hospitality and lifestyle sectors by bestowing upon winners the Signum Virtutis – the seal of excellence.

The awards winner were voted by both the trade (Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Industry Professionals) as well as the Public on the Seven Star Global Luxury Award website.
