MMPRC hosts ‘Journey to the Sunny Side’ roadshow in South Korea
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has organised a roadshow in South Korea.
The “Journey to the Sunny Side” roadshow is being held in Seoul and Busan from August 8-9.
The two-city roadshow targets the South Korea travel trade audience to maximise the Maldives brand exposure. This event serves as a platform for partners from the Maldives tourism industry to feature their products and network with the top travel trade partners from South Korea.
Vakkaru Maldives, Splendid Asia, Hulhule Island Hotel, Eon Resorts, Villa Hotels & Resorts, Furaveri Island Resort, Bandos Maldives, Robinson Club Maldives, and Orca Media Group have exhibited at the roadshow.
A raffle draw winner from each city will also get the chance to spend a complimentary holiday in the Maldives, thanks to Villa Hotels & Resorts.
South Korean market has promising potential for the Maldives tourism industry. A total of 34,400 tourists from the region visited the Maldives in 2018. Figures from January to June 2019 show that 17,358 tourists from South Korea visited the Maldives during the first six months of the year — a growth of 9.1 per cent compared to the same period last year.
This marks the fourth event in the “Journey to the Sunny Side” roadshows organised by MMPRC to further promote Maldives in the global market. This is a joint promotional activity with Singapore Airlines.
