Mirihi Island to host wellness programme with renowned osteopathy consultant Michael Kothe

Mirihi Island Maldives has announced an osteopathy wellness programme with a visiting osteopathy consultant.

In an announcement, Mirihi Island said renowned osteopathy consultant Michael Kothe would be at the resort from November 5 to 10.

“All of us strive to live a healthy and happy life and in Mirihi it is easy to look after your well-being even when you are on vacation,” the announcement read.

“Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the profound therapeutic effect of Osteopathy in our Duniye Spa.”

Michael Kothe.

The principles of osteopathy lie in the belief that in order to have well-being the body’s structure has to be functioning smoothly and correctly. Core elements of the body including bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue must be in harmony with one another or imbalances may occur.

Osteopathy could be beneficial for those suffering from back or shoulder pain, joint problems and muscular tension and discomfort.

Michael Kothe M.Sc. Ost. D.O. H.O. is from Germany and studied Oecotrophologie (Nutritional Sciences), Sport and Osteopathy (M.Sc.) as well as training in other related fields, including pain management, fascientherapy, organ psych, sports physiotherapy/sports osteopathy, biodynamic, taping, Kinesiotaping, Flossing, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Kuatso and Quantum Medicine.

Following the wellness programme, Mirihi Island will offer solo travellers an exclusive yoga and meditation retreat in December with Claudia Geux, one of the most experienced yoga instructors in Europe.

Located in the South Ari Atoll, Mirihi Island is an intimate resort with only 37 rooms, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. Guests will immediately feel at ease in the safe and beautiful environment. With sand covered floors throughout much of the hotel, guests can relax upon arrival where they will be encouraged to abandon their shoes and enjoy their stay barefoot with the powder-soft sand between their toes.

Travellers looking to socialise and meet like-minded people can book sunset sailing trips, whale shark safaris, diving trips, visits to local islands, sessions tasting the most comprehensive selection of fine rum in the whole of the Indian Ocean, and can enjoy complimentary weekly beach cinemas, board games, table tennis, football and more.

Alternatively, guests can enjoy some time away from it all in their private water or beach villa, on a secluded beach or while enjoying a pampering spa treatment.
