Maldives Game Fishing Challenge

Published

on

Maldives Promotion House – Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has announced that they are partnering with Maldives Game Fishing Association (MGFA) in association with Dhiraagu to host the first Maldives Game Fishing Challenge in the Maldives. The unique challenge, set to be held from 9th to 12th November 2011, treads on an area of the tourism industry that has been left undiscovered in Maldives.

Renowned as a premier destination for tranquil, naturally breathtaking, picture-perfect vacations, Game Fishing in Maldives is an exciting sport that has seldom taken place in Maldives. However with more water than land, Maldives is an exceptional water sports location with diving, surfing and sailing already widely practiced and played.

What is less promoted is game fishing; and with the atolls and Indian Ocean surrounding the country teeming with excellent game fish including Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna and Sailfish; MGFC welcomes you to be a part of this inaugural event and reveal the secret of game fishing in the Maldives to the world.

With sundrenched days at sea, testing your angling skills, you may feel like a holiday to wind down after the competition. Bring your family and friends and relax on one of the Maldives resorts nestled among the 1200 stunning equatorial islands. A magnificent tropical holiday combined with excellent game fishing will long be remembered.

This exciting new event on the Maldives sporting and tourism calendars has been designed to attract new visitors to our beautiful nation and raise the profile of game and conservation fishing. The event is endorsed by the International Game Fishing Association and is an IGFA Offshore World Championship qualifying event.
