Tolarno Maldives Kunaavashi Resort, La Vie Hotels’ first Maldives property, to open in 2020
Australian hotel management company La Vie Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of its first Maldivian property – Tolarno Maldives Kunaavashi Resort, opening in early 2020.
Tolarno Maldives is situated in Vaavu atoll, one of the best diving destinations in the Maldives, and is accessible by either a 20-minute seaplane flight or a one-hour speedboat journey from the country’s main Velana International Airport.
The resort’s public areas as well as its 72 villas will feature works by local Maldivian artists. Guests will be treated to a wide variety of gastronomic indulgences in the island resort’s five distinct food and beverage outlets.
Recreational facilities will be found in different parts of the island, ensuring absolute privacy for guests. A sea-view infinity pool and a spa will provide genuine beach vacation experience, whilst a kids club will offer an indoor and outdoor playground for kids of all ages. A fully-equipped diving and water sports centre will allow guests to explore the fascinating marine life in Maldives.
Established in 2000, La Vie Hotels & Resorts offers a comprehensive range of services and tools. The company has expanded its operation across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, with a portfolio of diverse hotels ranging from business hotels to boutique resorts.
Development of Kunaavashi as a five-star boutique resort was launched in 2015, with the resort slated to open in December 16. However, the Chinese-led project reportedly faced several changes.
Vaavu atoll has one of the lowest concentration of tourist resorts in the Maldives. Alimatha Aquatic Resort and Dhiggiri Tourist Resort are the only resorts in the atoll.
