Coco Collection wraps up multi-award winning year

Coco Collection, a leading local resort operator, is celebrating a year of big wins.

At the 2017 World Luxury Hotel Awards gala held on December 2, Coco Collection won big as the Global Winner in the category of Luxury Brand.

“With a strong reputation as an authentically Maldivian luxury brand offering stylish and sophisticated escapes, this award is another step towards establishing the brand as a leader in the region,” a statement issued by the resort group said.

Coco Collection was also crowned the Regional Winner in the category of Luxury Collection Group and the Continent Winner in the category of Luxury Management group.

While the brand celebrated as a whole, its properties also excelled with individual awards at the World Luxury Hotel Awards.

Coco Bodu Hithi, the chic luxury resort of the portfolio, celebrated winning the title of Luxury Hideaway Resort in the Indian Ocean. For the eco-conscious luxury resort of Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, the team is overjoyed at winning Luxury Romantic Beach Resort in the Indian Ocean and Luxury Family Beach Resort in the Maldives.

“The World Luxury Hotel Awards are celebrating a decade of awarding service excellence and these six accolades are a testament to our authentic style and charming hospitality,” the statement read.

In November, Coco Spa at Coco Bodu Hithi also celebrated winning the Best for Romance category in Africa, the Indian Ocean and Middle East region at the 2018 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.

Created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across luxury spas, the annual Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality, recognised by luxury travellers and professionals alike.

At the 2017 South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) held October 28, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu won the category of Leading Eco Resort in the Maldives and South Asia region.

At the forefront of initiatives to preserve marine biodiversity, contribute to environmental and social sustainability, and educate and engage guests, associates, and local communities, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu continuously strengthens the responsible philosophy embodied by Coco Collection.

SATA provides the tourism sector of the region with recognition for service excellence, aiming to encourage and raise service standards within the industry.
