Maldives to Introduce a Medical Resort

Maldives Promotion House – Maldivian company, Works Corporation and an Indian Company has signed an agreement with the government to construct and develop a Medical Resort in Laamu Gan.

Universal Empire Infrastructure of India and Works Corporation formed a joint venture company, Island Development Company (IDC), which signed with the government for a period of 50 years.

Director of IDC Munish Gupta said that the project will cost more than USD200 Million. Tourism Ministry signed the agreement with IDC which will also construct an alternative medical centre and a university in Laamu Gan.

Gupta also said that the project will introduce medical tourism in Maldives and open up a new field.
