Baros Maldives appoints new executive chef
Maldives.net.mv – Baros Maldives has announced the appointment of a new executive chef to the luxurious private boutique resort in the Indian Ocean archipelago of the Maldives.
He is the experienced award-winning television chef, Tobias Fetz. Fetz, age 42, hails from Switzerland where he began his culinary journey, gaining experience in various restaurants and hotels and receiving a Master’s Degree & Certification as Executive Chef as well as a Master’s Degree in Hotel Management. After a stint as Executive Sous Chef in a Michelin star restaurant in Switzerland, he worked for three years as Executive Chef at a Relais Chateux restaurant in Canada.
From there he held positions as Executive Chef in major chain hotels in Dubai, Warsaw, Frankfurt, Jamaica, Saudi Arabia, the Dominican Republic and Austria. During his travels he benefitted from cooking experience at the famous El Bulli’s Restaurant in Spain as well as appearing on television cooking shows in Canada and Jamaica.
He has worked in the Maldives since February 2012 and brings to Baros Maldives a wealth of culinary ideas. “It was my dream to work in the Maldives since I began cooking,” says Fetz. “It’s a challenge to cater for discerning guests of so many different nationalities and to provide superlative cuisine in a tropical island setting. I shall draw on my worldwide experience to see every guest enjoys memorable dining experiences at Baros Maldives.”
As Executive Chef at Baros Maldives, Tobias Fetz is responsible for the resort’s three gourmet restaurants: the iconic Lighthouse, recognised as one of the best restaurants in the Maldives, the Cayenne with exotic seafood and meat grills, and the beachside Lime with all day dining in style.
