Indian Ocean-based hospitality brand Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts has unveiled expansion plans for four more properties across the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Following the recent announcement of the latest property to launch within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts portfolio – VARU by Atmosphere (opening in late 2019 in North Male Atoll) – the fast-growing hospitality brand has now unveiled its further plans to open four more properties that are set to open between 2020 and 2021.

Opening in 2020, OBLU X in the Male Atoll will be the largest of all Atmosphere properties, with 350 villas and suites. This three-star property will have a contemporary approach and positioning, bringing Atmosphere’s high levels of service and experiences to the three-star segment like never before.

A second four-star OBLU property with 220 villas and suites will open in 2020 in the hugely popular Baa atoll, incorporating contrasting elements of nature and a cast-away theme.

Following great success in the Maldives with OZEN at Maadhoo, the story of OZEN continues its journey by expanding into the south coast of Sri Lanka with OZEN by Atmosphere at Tangalle; set to launch in 2021. With 37 villas and five private residences that offer guests an accessible quality of luxury and pure indulgence, this exclusive resort will bring the signature luxury aesthetics of the established OZEN brand into an entirely new setting that is Sri Lanka, merging with its rich culture and heritage.

Also coming in 2021 is OBLU Select at Tangalle – with 118 rooms and suites – offering its premium all-inclusive holiday plan, The Serenity Plan. The property is set to establish an entirely new way to experience the popular holiday destination, following the trends set by the first OBLU SELECT at Sangeli that had opened in July 2018 in North Male Atoll, Maldives.

In a cluttered market, Atmosphere’s consistent success has been driven by its steadfast commitment in delivering an innovative approach to the typical beach holiday experience. Offering the discerning global traveller with uniquely formulated all-encompassing resort plans which have proven high customer satisfaction and loyalty unmatched by competitors. Since its inception in 2013, the group has continued to launch and establish consecutive successful products with a best-in-class positioning, including the four-star OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli, entry-level five-star Atmosphere Kanifushi, the luxury all-inclusive OZEN by Atmosphere at Maadhoo, and the four-star deluxe OBLU Select at Sangeli.

“Our rapid expansion plans is a true indication of the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts world-class offerings and services. We’re extremely delighted to be able to welcome even more visitors to the Atmosphere way of being in both the Maldives and Sri Lanka. It has always been our mission to create unique, authentic, and beyond imaginary Maldivian experiences that will create life-long memories,” Stephane Laguette, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, was quoted in a statement, as saying.

“The secret behind our successful operation is our strong brand portfolio; OZEN, our flagship luxury resort, OBLU at Helengeli and OBLU SELECT at Sangeli, our superior and deluxe resorts, and the original Atmosphere resort, five-star Atmosphere Kanifushi. Our core philosophy, ‘The Joy of Giving’, which is all about a holistic guest-centric experience, offers those who choose Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts an all-encompassing, hassle-free holiday.”

Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts’s holiday plans are tailored to each property in order to maximise guest experience from the exquisite accommodation, delectable culinary experiences to a range of activities and cultural experiences which allow guests to deeply explore their holiday destination – all in a profound and truly personified way.
