Maldives exhibits at WTM London 2018
Maldives is exhibiting at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London.
This year, 169 delegates from 65 companies from across the Maldives tourism sector, including resorts, hotels, guest houses, travel agencies, associations and airline operators are representing the Maldives at the fair, being held from November 5-7. The Maldives contingent is led by Ahmed Shiaan, the Maldives ambassador to UK, Belgium and EU.
The main activities at the Maldives stand include business meetings for industry professionals. This is a significant platform to create personal and business opportunities, providing customers with quality contacts and content.
To gain coverage, press distribution will be conducted providing information about the big events and success stories of Maldives. Visitors can also experience Maldives in virtual reality while a lucky winner gets to holiday and witness the wonders of the country. The holiday package for the winner is sponsored by one of the co-exhibitors, MO Hotels & Resorts.
To maximise the opportunity WTM offers to socialise and experience the unique vibe of the destination, local traditional attire will be showcased to visitors along with Maldivian culinary delights.
Maldives is being represented at a 345 square metre stand designed in an attractive contemporary style, showing images of the beauty of the country. The double-storey stand has been enhanced to accommodate the increasing number of industry partners participating at the fair year on year, implying the significance of the fair to the partners. Co-exhibitors are given the opportunity to advertise the authentic character of each destination at allocated tables.
To maximise the presence of Maldives at WTM, Prince Regent DlR walkway screens are used by MMPRC to portray the beauty of Maldives in the form of images and videos. This is expected to be very effective, as the DLR walkway screens are displayed at the main entrance of WTM.
Additionally, lanyards with Maldives branding will also be distributed at the fair.
Now in its 38th year, WTM London is one of the leading global events for the travel industry. The event brings together almost 5,000 exhibiting destinations, technology and private sector companies to find and network with 51,000 travel professionals, key industry buyers, journalists and digital influencers.
WTM offers the opportunity to discover the world under one roof and discover trends, issues and innovations in the travel industry. Ideas are also generated at WTM London, with about 100 sessions taking place and input from 350 senior industry experts.
Maldives participated in WTM London for the first time in 1984, and has continued to do so every year making this the 34th time.
