LUX* launches Orlebar Brown swim shorts collection, available in LUX* South Ari Atoll
LUX* Resorts and Hotels have announced the launch of an exciting new capsule collection of swim shorts for men by refined British swimwear brand Orlebar Brown.
Inspired by LUX*’s Indian Ocean resorts, the collection consists of three designs, each with striking imagery including LUX* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives and LUX* Belle Mare in Mauritius. Perfectly capturing the beauty of island life, the designs reflect LUX*’s vision of a ‘lighter, brighter’ holiday experience featuring vibrant vistas, turquoise waters and spectacular sunsets.
Adam Brown, Founder of Orlebar Brown said: “LUX* Resorts and Hotels are a natural setting for Orlebar Brown with many of our customers posting images through our #OBsAroundTheWorld enjoying their vacations in these extraordinary resorts. LUX*’s emphasis on celebration and exceptional experiences resonated with our brand DNA here at Orlebar Brown, and we couldn’t be more pleased to launch this exclusive collection along with a series of pop ups at LUX* resorts in Mauritius and Maldives.”

The Orlebar Brown capsule collection for LUX* launches in December and will be available exclusively from a pop-up shop at LUX* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives. LUX* Belle Mare and LUX* Grand Gaube in Mauritius will also host similar pop-ups.
Paul Jones, CEO of LUX* Resorts and Hotels, comments: “Orlebar Brown is a brand I’ve long admired; the designs are fashionable yet fun and there’s a great synergy with LUX*’s ‘lighter, brighter’ concept. We are hugely excited to be launching this capsule collection together. The three pop-up boutiques will provide our guests with unique access to a bespoke range of shorts which should hopefully remind them of their holiday experience with LUX*.”

LUX* runs the LUX* South Ari Atoll resort in the Maldives.
Cutting-edge designer villas and world-class dining can be found only a 30-minute seaplane flight away from the main Velana International Airport, making LUX* South Ari Atoll one of the most exciting resorts in the Maldives.
With 187 private villas dotted at the water’s edge along four kilometres of powder fine beach or perched on stilts above a crystal clear lagoon, these spacious pavilions and villas bring an entirely original vibe of coastal, beach house chic to the Maldives.
Excellent eating and drinking is always a cut above the rest at LUX*, and at LUX* South Ari Atoll, there is authentic South East Asian street food in the Maldives’ only over-the-water gourmet night market and world-class Chinese cuisine at East, along with the Japanese restaurant Umami, which offers live teppanyaki and dazzling selection of sakés.
While the resort has a PADI-certified dive centre, two infinity pools, a floodlit tennis court, a fitness centre and a renowned spa which hosts a wellness concierge and a menu of indulgent treatments, what sets the property apart from its neighbours are surprises, or better known as #ReasonstogoLUX. Designed to create lasting memories for guests, these ‘reasons’ can range from island-roasted coffee in Café LUX* to impromptu movie screenings at cinema paradise and the chance to hang your wishes on the Tree of Wishes.
LUX* has recently announced the opening of its second resort in the Maldives early next year.
Named LUX* North Male Atoll and located on the six hectare picnic island of Olhahali, the new resort features contemporary architecture that is unique for the Indian Ocean, including private terraces, rooftop lounges, outdoor decks, private gardens and 13m private pools.

Nova Maldives to host PADI AWARE Week this September
Nova Maldives will renew its partnership with PADI this September to co-host Project AWARE Week from 16 to 20 September 2026.
Organised by the resort’s marine team, the programme will give guests, from first-time snorkellers to experienced divers, opportunities to combine marine wildlife observation with practical conservation activities. The initiative is intended to turn time spent in the ocean into an educational experience while encouraging greater awareness of marine conservation.
This year’s AWARE Week coincides with PADI’s 60th anniversary and Nova Maldives’ fourth year of operation in South Ari Atoll. Now in its eighth global edition, PADI AWARE Week has developed into a citizen science movement within the diving community and has helped rescue more than 41,000 entangled marine animals to date.
Through its continued participation, Nova Maldives aims to encourage guests to become ocean advocates and remain engaged with marine conservation beyond their stay.
Guests staying at Nova during AWARE Week will be able to participate in a programme designed for different levels of ocean experience. Activities will include:
- Ocean immersion and storytelling: Sessions inspired by Blue Planet and other ocean documentaries, highlighting the diversity and vulnerability of marine life.
- Dive Against Debris: Underwater clean-up dives in the resort’s lagoon, during which participants will remove plastic and other waste before recording the findings in PADI AWARE’s global database.
- Whale shark snorkelling: Guided encounters that will allow guests to swim alongside whale sharks in the open waters of South Ari Atoll.
- Manta ray and turtle-spotting excursions: Guided boat trips to feeding and nesting areas where manta rays and turtles can be observed in their natural habitats.
- Coral restoration workshops: Practical sessions introducing guests to coral planting and the resort’s ongoing reef regeneration work.
“Some of the most meaningful work happens when you show up year after year. Four years into Nova’s story, we’ve learned that the health of the reef tells us a great deal about the impact we’re making, and that the guests who choose to return aren’t just here for the view,” said Abdulla Aboobakuru, General Manager of Nova Maldives.
“They’re here because Nova reflects something they already care about, including care for the ocean, a sense of community and a more thoughtful way of experiencing the places we visit. That’s what we hope Nova can inspire in new and returning guests alike: less a destination, more a calling.”
The resort’s marine conservation work continues throughout the year. Its coral nursery contains a growing collection of metal frames holding individually secured coral fragments, which are later transplanted onto the house reef. Guests are regularly invited to participate in the planting process, while the marine team monitors the young coral colonies as they develop.
Nova Maldives also maintains partnerships with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme and Manta Trust. The resort is accredited as a Responsible Manta Tourism Operator, with the partnerships supporting its year-round approach to marine conservation.
