“Grown-up” experiences in child-friendly sizes

Maldives.net.mv – Known affectionately as “KH,” Kuda Huraa may as well stand for “Kids Haven” for the quality and extent of activities geared towards younger guests at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa.
“There’s still a preconception that the Maldives isn’t great for children,” explains the Resort’s General ManagerTulio Hochkoeppler. “But when you combine Kuda Huraa’s engaging activities, intimate size, accessible layout and effervescent service culture, nothing could be further from the truth.”
Kuda Huraa kids can visit the island’s cutest residents in the Resort’s turtle pools – where hatchlings from protected nests are hand-reared to increase their chance of survival in the wild – or learn about the vulnerable marine ecosystem with 3D movies in the Marine Discovery Centre. Dudes as young as six can then swap the classroom for the ocean with year-round lagoon courses with the Resort’s Tropicsurf Surf School. Advanced courses and surf clinics are available for older children, or those with more experience.
Scuba programs are available for oceanic adventurers as young as eight – and thanks to special permission from PADI, the Resort is one of only a handful in the world where children can learn to dive directly among the fish in the shallow lagoon, as opposed to in the swimming pool.
Intrepid marine explorers will also love the Resort’s shark snorkel safaris, dolphin cruises, sunset fishing andRobinson Crusoe escapes; while adventure and sports lovers will relish trying their hand at wake-boarding andtennis, parasailing and banana-boating.
After an action packed day, Kuda Huraa kids can catch a tiny dhoni (traditional Maldivian boat) to The Island Spa,where the dedicated Kuda (“Little”) Spa menu engages wellness aficionados as young as six with innovative island-inspired Spa treatments and all-natural products.
Kids aged 4-12 seeking a more structured approach will find all the entertainment they desire courtesy of Kids’ Club’s larger-than-life Montessori-trained “Big Momma,” whose daily program of complimentary activities includes crafts and cookery, Spa sessions and scavenger hunts, beach games and garden fun. Under-4s are also welcome, when accompanied by an adult guardian or Resort babysitter.
In addition, a host of standard child-friendly extras await every child: goody bags, personalized treats and toiletries, child-size robes and slippers, complimentary meals for under-5s, and subsidized tailored menus for 4-12 year-olds in all the restaurants. The Resort’s chefs happily cater to picky palates and will even accommodate early sittings for hungry little tummies.
New for 2014, the Resort’s weekly Family Pool Party will see Reef Club transformed into a fun-filled family fiesta complete with pool and beach games, make-your-own pizza station and beach bonfires – perfect for toasting marshmallows under the Maldivian sunset.
“We base our kids activities on the understanding that if the kids are having fun, the parents are too,” concludes Tulio. “And the best way to do that is to treat them like the ‘little grown ups’ they believe themselves to be. It also helps that Kuda Huraa is a small enough island for kids to feel right at home, yet big enough for those wanting peace and privacy to seek those all-important kiddie-free moments. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

‘Bunnies Gone Wild’ becomes bold, Playboy-inspired Easter celebration at Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo has taken a daring new direction with its Easter 2025 celebrations, turning up the volume on its already provocative theme, Bunnies Gone Wild. Originally teased as a playful adults-only experience, the event has now evolved into a Playboy-inspired celebration; one that invites guests to explore a new kind of freedom, sensuality, and self-expression unlike anything the Maldives has seen before.
The resort had previously announced a week-long Easter program filled with lively entertainment, decadent dining, and themed poolside events. But in a bold, creative shift, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo has reimagined the entire atmosphere of the event, bringing in a seductive flair inspired by the iconic Playboy lifestyle. While still rooted in elegance and good taste, the newly enhanced program introduces elements of glamour, boldness, and a touch of provocation, transforming the experience into something much more than just a holiday celebration.
This is no longer just an Easter event, it is a curated escape for adults who want to feel free to explore, indulge, and enjoy themselves without limits. The Playboy-inspired twist lets Mercure Maldives create that fantasy in a tasteful yet thrilling way. It’s something never seen in the Maldives before.
Throughout the week, guests can expect seductive details woven into every moment, from cheeky in-villa surprises and risqué gift boxes to elevated versions of the resort’s experiences, such as the Bunnies Gone Wild pool party, late-night DJ gatherings, and mixology sessions that now come with a flirtatious edge.
This new direction doesn’t just change the look and feel of the Easter season, it reframes what kind of stories a Maldivian holiday can tell. Guests are invited to step into a space where fun is fearless, self-expression is celebrated, and the lines between luxury and playfulness are delightfully blurred.
Wellness and relaxation still play an essential role, with sound healing, yoga, and Watsu sessions offering guests balance amidst the vibrant energy. But even these moments are being approached with an intimacy and mood that reflect the deeper themes of connection and freedom.
With this final reveal of its enhanced Easter program, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo positions itself at the forefront of creative resort storytelling in the Maldives. By daring to do what others wouldn’t, it promises not just a stay, but an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
