Maldivian delegation leaves to attend the biggest event of Visit Maldives Year 2016, ITB Berlin

ITB 2016Maldives.net.mv – A total of 57 entertainers and recitalists, who will be attending ITB Berlin as a major spotlight of the special performances conducted in the gala opening and Maldivian stand, will leave to Berlin on the 4th March (Friday) morning. 6 media representatives from 4 different news channels will also be leaving with the entertainment team to attend the fair which will be hosted in the Messe Berlin GmbH, in Berlin, Germany from 9- 13 March 2016.

Government officials and technical team from MMPRC and Ministry of Tourism who will be attending the fair has already left to Berlin on the 2nd of March 2016. The leading delegation of ministers and senior government representatives will be joining the team later for the opening ceremony of ITB on 8th March 2016. Maldivian delegation will be headed by Minister of Tourism honorable Moosa Zameer. This year the Maldivian troupe has a total of 281 representatives from 96 industry stake holding companies in addition to government officials representing the country.

In 2016, ITB Berlin celebrates their 50th anniversary and Maldives is the partner host country of the fair, which is the major highlight of the Visit Maldives Year 2016 campaign. The core event, ITB Gala Opening Night will be hosted by Maldives on the 8th March (Tuesday) night, showcasing one of the biggest entertainment performances to an audience of over 2500 viewers. Major activities carried out as the host country include, press conference, panel discussions, ITB Blogger Speed Dating, ITB travel raffle, ITB Kinderland, ITB travel raffle, The Grand Finale of ITB 2016 and festive closing ceremony. Maldivian Night, an exquisite dinner night for the Maldivian tourism industry participants and their special invitees will also be hosted on the 9th March night by MMPRC and MOT.

Maldives will be showcased in four areas this year; Main stand in Hall 5.2a, Adventure travel, responsible stand in Hall 4.1, Media stand in Hall 5.3 and in the South Entrance. In the floor space of 583 square meters which will stage the Maldivian stand, cultural performances, handicrafts display, spa experience by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, sand art, calligraphy and tasting Maldivian delicacies will be featured. These special activities have been organized to get Maldives the maximum possible exposure and attraction by the visitors and trade parties participating in the world’s largest travel trade exhibition.

The Maldives has been nominated for six prestigious WTA awards, including the highly sought-after title of World’s Leading Destination 2024. Additionally, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is competing for the title of World’s Leading Tourist Board 2024.

Voting is open until October 20, 2024, and support can play a crucial role in helping the Maldives secure these distinguished awards. By casting a vote, individuals are not only recognising the Maldives’ exceptional achievements but also contributing to its continued growth and prominence as a top travel destination.

Atmosphere Core appoints Maurice Van Den Bosch as GM of RAAYA by Atmosphere, Milan Mookerjee as VP of Human Resources

International hospitality company Atmosphere Core has announced the appointment of Milan Mookerjee as Vice President of Human Resources.

This appointment reflects Atmosphere Core’s ongoing commitment to enhancing guest experiences and fostering a people-centric culture across its portfolio of three brands and nine resorts.

Veteran Human Resources leader, Milan Mookerjee will oversee talent management and employee growth initiatives across the Atmosphere Core’s resorts in the Maldives. With over 15 years of industry experience, Milan is a seasoned professional known for aligning HR initiatives with business goals and fostering a human-centric culture.

Reflecting on his approach to human resources, Milan said, “Leadership is a privilege that we owe to our team. Intentionality with direction and purpose drives results, and I am committed to fostering a culture that empowers our people to grow and succeed. In hospitality, success begins with a motivated, engaged workforce, and I believe in creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Before joining Atmosphere Core, Milan served as Head of Human Resources and Training at Encalm Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., where he led HR and training functions to drive business growth. He has also held several HR leadership roles at prominent companies in India, with a proven ability to develop talent and design learning programmes tailored to business needs.

Meanwhile, Maurice Lucien Van Den Bosch recently returned to the Atmosphere Core family as General Manager of RAAYA by Atmosphere.

Born in Australia, Maurice Lucien Van Den Bosch draws from the country’s renowned laid-back yet dynamic culture in his leadership style, fostering a spirit of inclusivity, adventure, and warm hospitality. He brings over 24 years of expertise in resort management, with a demonstrated ability to exceed profit targets, cost-effectively develop new projects, and lead culturally diverse teams with motivation and efficiency.

Maurice’s extensive experience includes leadership roles at some of the world’s top hospitality brands in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and the Caribbean. A familiar face within the Atmosphere Core family, Maurice has served as General Manager at both OZEN LIFE MAADHOO and Atmosphere Kanifushi.

As the General Manager of RAAYA by Atmosphere, Maurice will leverage his deep understanding of the brand to lead the resort with a focus on anticipating, crafting, and elevating guest experiences. “The culture and hospitality inspired by the Joy of Giving resonate deeply with me, and this shared value brings me back to the Atmosphere family”, Maurice said. “At RAAYA by Atmosphere, we are creating a castaway island experience of choice, a guest experience like no other, with a fine balance of escapism and energy.
