LUX* North Malé Atoll celebrates World Environment, Oceans Day
LUX* North Malé Atoll Resort & Villas has celebrated World Environment Day and World Oceans Day with new initiatives that celebrate the resort’s pristine surroundings.
On World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 every year, team members from 16 different nationalities gathered to plant 50 trees of different varieties.
To address the current health crisis facing the world, the trees were dedicated to healthcare heroes around the world who give us hope during these unprecedented times.
“We may come from different corners of the world, yet one thing common that we have is Mother Nature. Let’s care for what matters. Collectively we can make a difference,” the resort said, in announcement.
On June 8, LUX* North Malé Atoll celebrated World Ocean’s Day by highlighting the new ‘fish home’ project and getting together to clean the island’s house reef.

Under a new marine conservation project, ‘fish homes’ were made using rocks and dead corals that creates small structures for the fish to hide.
“While assembling these fish homes, even before completion we were ‘attacked’ by tiny damselfish that were defending their new home they had already moved into,” the resort said.
The newest addition to the LUX* Hotels portfolio in the Maldives, LUX* North Malé Atoll is an intimate resort offering a visual feast of nautical forms and tones. It is a next-level resort that sweeps away the thatched-roofed Maldivian footprint of old with a dazzling paradise of 67 double-storey penthouse villas and spectacularly designed spaces to play, relax and retreat.
