Per Aquum Music Ambassador, DJ Ravin Returns to Huvafen Fushi

Maldives Promotion House – Per AQUUM’s Dream Calendar teams up once again with Ravin, DJ and Producer of the Buddha-bar series to celebrate Huvafen Fushi’s revamped, refurbished and refreshed new look this October 24th. Collaborating art with music this time, Huvafen Fushi will host renowned French graffiti artist, Lyès-Olivier Sidhoum or better known as Lyes as he paints, sprays and stamps his masterpiece inspired by the Maldives on the walls of The Lair and Reception from October 23rd to November 1st, 2012.

The Buddha-bar legend and pioneer of cool ambient-house mixes, Ravin, returns to the island for one exclusive night. Ravin captured the islands’ uniqueness through its very own Huvafen Fushi Maldives by Ravin Volume 1 and 2. ‘A compilation filled with curiosity, passion and unknown sensations about a musical exploration through Huvafen Fushi and back home. It was one of the most exciting journeys for me,’ said Ravin. The launch parties were attended by Academy Award nominee Catherine Deneuve, Cesar Award winning François Cluzet, renowned chocolatier Pierre Hermé and two other Per AQUUM Music Ambassadors, DJs Stephane Pompougnac and Charles Schillings. Both Huvafen Fushi Maldives by Ravin Volume 1 and 2 are available at all major record stores including Virgin, Fnac and online at iTunes and Amazon.

Lyes currently calls Hong Kong home and is known for his work on out of the box surfaces including an Audi R8, a mountain of marble in an Italian white marble quarry, on the surface of oil refinery tanks in Feyzin and once, even on the glass of a shark tank. Lyes’ work contains figures, faces that are typically obscured, or rendered in outline. They include classic elements of graffiti like the quotes that are used to frame a tag, or the simple star which is a standard graffiti icon. For his work at Huvafen Fushi, guests will be experiencing his ‘live’ art techniques and creative creation, first-hand over the course of ten days.
