Qatar Airways offers MATATO members discounted airfare
Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and Qatar Airways has signed a partnership agreement which will allow MATATO members to receive significant discounts on airfare booked through the award-winning airline.
A corporate incentive contract was officially signed on March 6 to facilitate this arrangement, where registered MATATO members will receive up to 18 per cent discount on airfare to destinations in Qatar Airways network. Ajay Jacob, Country Manager of Qatar Airways to Sri Lanka and Maldives, and Abdulla Suood, President of MATATO, signed the agreement.
“We are delighted to announce today our partnership with Qatar Airways, one of the leading careers in the world. This agreement comes as part of our continued efforts to facilitate and support business of our members, by seeking opportunities with corporate and entities with whom we share the market with,” Suood was quoted in a statement, as saying.
“Today, our members have privileged access to one of the leading global networks of air travel”.
Under the agreement between MATATO and Qatar Airways, MATATO members will receive 10 per cent and 18 per cent discount on economy and business class tickets respectively, to destinations in Europe and Africa as well as South and North America. This offer will stand through March 1, 2020, with travel period set between April 2019 to March 2020.
Launched in 2006, MATATO is one of the leading organisations in the travel industry of Maldives, representing local travel agents and tour operators as general members. The non-profit also organises the annual Maldives Travel Awards, the most prestigious travel industry recognition in the Maldives.
Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of the State of Qatar, operates flights to more than 160 business and leisure destinations on board a modern fleet of more than 230 aircraft. The airline currently operates 21 flights per week from Doha to the Maldives.
