Maldives Promotion House – Veligandu Island Resort has been awarded two prestigious awards, the Gulet Hotelo Award 2011and the Travelife Gold award. The Gulet Hotelo Award is an appreciation award by the Austrian tour operator Gulet Touristik, and the Travelife is an international certification scheme that helps hotels and accommodations to improve the way they manage their social and environmental issues.

The Travelife award is an industry led scheme which is recognised globally. It portrays the commitment of tour operators and accommodation providers to sustainability. It is also one of the few schemes that value social policy as highly as environmental management and it helps its members develop and promote good sustainable practices.

Veligandu Island Resort, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and a long stretch of white, sandy beach, is the only resort on the island of Veligandu, in North Ari Atoll. Transfers are by a scenic 20 minute seaplane flight from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. They have some 76 Rooms, including 54 Jacuzzi Water Villas, 10 Water Villas and 12 Jacuzzi Beach Villas.
