Malaysia’s Sarawak State to Learn from Maldives on Tourism Development
Maldives Promotion House – Maldives has continued to lead its neighbouring countries in the hospitality industry with its successful tourism. Most recently Malaysia’s Sarawak State has announced that they will be taking countries such as Maldives as examples.
Sarawak’s Tourism and Heritage Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Open said recently that they will be learning from Maldives for the development of their tourism.
Next month, the minister will lead a delegation comprising of the regional airline of Malaysian Airlines for the State’s (MASWing) personnel, to Maldives, for the exploration of the tourism development.
Johari has also been talking about introducing amphibious aircraft to operate between Kuching and Miri to Bakun and Murum dams.
Johari also said that the complicated logistics from Maldives would serve as a guide as to how Sarawak could develop tourism in central and northern Sarawak.
