Maldives Promotion House – Soneva Fushi has announced that they will be welcoming celebrity chef Jun Tanaka. Jun will cook a 5 course tasting menu on the 28^th of April, and a casual beach BBQ on the 29^th April with their executive chef Bjorn van der Horst.

Jun Tanaka has been Executive Chef at Pearl restaurant in London since it opened in June 2004, where he has established an excellent reputation for his modern French cuisine. In June 2011, Jun launched Street Kitchen – a mobile food van serving gourmet street food with Mark Jankel his friend and business partner.

Prior to Pearl, Jun spent ten years working with some of London’s best chefs, including Albert Roux, Marco Pierre White and Philip Howard, in seven top Michelin star restaurants learning the art of French cuisine.

In 2006 he presented his first series on Channel 4 called Cooking It and has made regular appearances on UKTV’s Market Kitchen and BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen. More recently Jun has appeared on ITV’s Ten Mile menu and Choppped on the FOOD Network U.S.

Jun continues to regularly feature at the Ideal Home show, Taste festivals in London and Dubai. His first book Simple to Sensational was published by Simon & Schuster in May 2009. 

April 28^th – Jun will create a 5 course tasting menu for up to 30 guests using local ingredients and products from their organic gardens, for USD 129, and with wine USD 219 per person.

April 29^th – casual BBQ on Turtle beach, communal dinner cooked by Jun and Soneva Fushi executive chef Bjorn van der Horst, for USD 155.
