Kuredu welcomes new golf pro David Tintori

David Tintori has joined Kuredu Island Resort and Spa Maldives as its resident golf pro.

Originally from London, David has been playing golf for over 26 years, consulted UK’s leading online travel companies on golf holiday packages, and has worked all over the world, including the US, South Africa and across Europe.

In an announcement by the resort, David mentions how he was blown away by Kuredu’s stunning location and scenery, but also how impressed he is with the friendly, family-like environment created by the guests and team members.

“I’ve played at over a thousand golf courses worldwide, but Kuredu Golf Club is unlike any! Not only can you play in bare feet without the old school rules of collared shirts and knee high socks, it also caters to beginners and experienced golfers alike,” he was quoted as saying.

David has big hopes for golf in Kuredu; he would like to introduce themed lessons, help his golf team members continue their development and achieve PGA status, and help establish the Maldives’ first junior golf academy on the island.

Located on a 1,800 metre by 325 metre remote island in the northern atoll of Lhaviyani, Kuredu is accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport. This 4.5-star resort has 383 rooms, including beach and water villas, making it the second largest resort in the Maldives.

Tucked away in the dense tropical vegetation is a lush, has-to-be-seen-to-be-believed six-hole, par three golf course along with a full size driving range and bar. Guests on All-Inclusive package can enjoy complimentary golf lessons, while all guests can sign up for private lessons and play a round under the stars during night golf.
