Conrad Maldives begins transformation of Water Villas
The two islands of Conrad Maldives, Rangali Island resort, with its beach and water villas, are surrounded by a thriving coral reef and marine life. The resort is home to the world’s first underwater restaurant covered by glass where you can enjoy its underwater luxury as you dine from its marvelous cuisines.
After 15 years of its luxurious service in Maldives, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is once again raising its standards with the complete renovation of 28 Water Villas and two Premier Water villas. The project set to begin on 15th May, is expected to be completed in six months, transforming the villas into ultra-luxurious contemporary over-water retreats with additional decking, private pool, entirely new furniture and sublime bathrooms with picture windows overlooking the ocean.
The Regional General Manager of Conrad Maldives, Carsten Schieck said that the resort, “offers the natural setting for the pure beauty and luxury that guests expect to find in the Maldives. The complete renovation of our Water villas will ensure that these rooms retain their position as some of the most outstanding villas in the country.”
The resort plans to completely pull apart the 28 Water villas, while the interiors of two Premier Water villas will be upgraded. According to the resort the new layout of the Water Villas will be more open to provide the sensation of space. Most importantly the resort assures that the guests will remain undisturbed. “The work will take place on a part of an island that has been closed off to guests and every effort will be made to minimize visual and audible disruption to our guests,” Public Relations Manager of Conrad Maldives Katherine Anthony told Maldives Promotion House.
One of the new additions is a desk set over glass panels to give the impression that it is floating over the water below. The new design for the Water villas will bring elegant natural tones of wood and soft whites, with gentle shades of lavender and green, and recessed lighting that adds to the contemporary feel.
Unfortunate that it may be, the renovation will temporarily close half of Rangali Island, Vilu Restaurant & Bar, and one of the resort’s two spas, while rest of the resort will continue to operate as usual with guests having the option of dining at eight restaurants and bars. The Spa Retreat on the main island will offer the full treatment list from the Over-Water Spa during its six-month closure.
The guests at all Water Villas will be able to enjoy the latest modern conveniences including flat screen satellite TV, CD stereo with iPod connectors, DVD player, ‘Nespresso’ tea/coffee Machine, mini bar and IDD telephone.
As the renovated villas are expected to open on 1st November of this year with room rates starting from US $1,000 per night for two, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island will continue to offer the widest choice of accommodation in the Maldives, with the Spa Retreat and Beach Villas on Rangalifinolhu Island and Water Villas on Rangali Island, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of different experiences without ever leaving the resort.
