Mirihi Island announces yoga retreat for solo travellers with prominent yogi Claudia Geux
Mirihi Island Maldives has partnered with Claudia Geux, one of the most experienced yoga instructors in Europe, to offer solo travellers an exclusive yoga and meditation retreat.
During the retreat, which runs from December 3-10, Mirihi Island’s aspiring yogis will be invited to start the day against the backdrop of the rising sun with an energising yoga session led by Claudia. Come evening, guests will align their senses with Claudia’s meditation session, where individuals can balance and synchronise their mind, body and soul through chanting and breathing techniques.
For those with specific targets, there is also the option of payable private sessions which can be booked and tailored to an individual’s ability, preferences and interests.
Zurich native Claudia discovered a passion for the ancient practice of yoga while travelling in New Zealand several years ago. Over time, her preferred yoga style has emerged as Vinyasa Flow; meaning classes are taught in a flowing and creative way, accompanied by calming, tranquil music.
The yoga and meditation retreat costs USD 4,890 per person. The price is inclusive of taxes, and includes accommodation in a water villa on half-board basis, daily yoga and meditation, and return seaplane transfers.
“With the exclusive island destination removing the single supplement from all villas during this period and offering yoga and meditation daily, it is the ideal time for solo travellers craving a winter ‘digital-detox’ to visit. The retreat, which includes half board, will appeal to those in search of a hassle-free holiday,” an announcement by the resort read.
“The yoga and meditation retreat is back by popular demand following two successful retreats in 2016 and early 2017, and with solo travel set to become one of 2018’s biggest travel trends, Mirihi Island is now paving the way for guests who want to travel by themselves.”
The resort has, meanwhile, extended its Solo Travel offer until December 20, following an impressive number of solo traveller bookings during the summer period.
Located in the South Ari Atoll, Mirihi Island is an intimate resort with only 37 rooms, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. Guests will immediately feel at ease in the safe and beautiful environment. With sand covered floors throughout much of the hotel, guests can relax upon arrival where they will be encouraged to abandon their shoes and enjoy their stay barefoot with the powder-soft sand between their toes.
Travellers looking to socialise and meet like-minded people can book sunset sailing trips, whale shark safaris, diving trips, visits to local islands, sessions tasting the most comprehensive selection of fine rum in the whole of the Indian Ocean, and can enjoy complimentary weekly beach cinemas, board games, table tennis, football and more.
Alternatively, guests can enjoy some time away from it all in their private water or beach villa, on a secluded beach or while enjoying a pampering spa treatment.
InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has been nominated in the “Resort” category of the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2026, one of the travel industry’s recognised measures of guest preference and brand standing.
Located in Raa Atoll, the resort is continuing to build its profile through its all-Club concept, service model and guest experiences shaped by both location and programme. The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort has introduced its Family Fun Summer offer, aimed at families seeking longer island stays built around shared activities and rest. The offer is available for booking from 15 April to 15 June 2026, with a minimum stay of four nights for travel through to 20 December 2026.
Located within Baa Atoll, the Maldives’ first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is positioning the offer around family wellness, marine experiences and time spent together in a natural island setting. Seasonal snorkelling with manta rays in Hanifaru Bay remains one of the area’s key attractions, while the resort’s collection of beach and overwater villas is designed to accommodate families looking for space and flexibility during their stay.
For larger families and groups, the resort also offers the two-bedroom Heavenly Beach Residence, which includes a living room, kitchen and dining area intended to support longer and more relaxed island stays.
The resort says the guest experience can be shaped around both activity and downtime, supported by Westin’s Sleep Well concept and Heavenly Bed. Away from the villa, the resort is also promoting shared family experiences through Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy activities focused on the culture and environment of Baa Atoll. These include traditional lacquer craft workshops, visits to local islands and guided marine activities in surrounding waters.
The Family Fun Summer package includes three meals per day, with children under 12 dining free of charge. It also includes a one-time dolphin cruise for two adults and two children, a 30-minute photography session with one printed photo, and a USD 150 resort credit.
Reethi Faru Resort has been recognised at the 2026 Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards, receiving honours in four categories: Best Beach Villa in Indian Ocean, Best Pool Villa in Indian Ocean, Best Eco-Friendly Resort in Maldives, and Best Sustainable Hotel in Maldives.
The awards recognise performance across villa accommodation and environmentally focused hospitality, reflecting the resort’s emphasis on guest experience alongside sustainability and environmental stewardship.
According to the resort, the recognition supports its positioning within the Maldives market as a property that combines natural surroundings, accommodation standards and responsible hospitality practices.
Located on Filaidhoo in Raa Atoll, Reethi Faru Resort features 145 villas, including beachfront and overwater accommodation designed in a style that combines Maldivian elements with contemporary comfort.
The resort’s food and beverage offering includes six restaurants and six bars, while its leisure facilities cover watersports, diving, yoga, spa treatments and fitness activities. Surrounded by coral reefs, the resort also offers guests access to marine-based experiences in the Indian Ocean.
