Maldives Promotion House – Asasi Records has released the much anticipated debut solo album of Zero Degree Ahmed, Dhaalu-Raa. Album was released at a special ceremony held tonight (10th November 2012) at Traders Hotel. The event was broadcast live on Television Maldives. Music video for the song ‘bakari’ was released on 9th of November on TVM.

This is first of its kind from a member of the legendary group of musicians of Zero Degree atoll since their first release ‘Dhoni’ Album 22 years ago. Songs of this album are mainly based on the current state of the Maldivian society. The music of the album is described as balanced fusion between traditional Maldivian music and contemporary instruments.

The album will be available for purchase starting from 10th November night, from various cafes, music shops select outlets. The retail price of the album is MVR 290.

Work on the album began in 2010 when Ahmed approached Asasi Records for assistance. After two years of hard work, Asasi Records is proud to present Dhaalu Raa, a new taste of ‘Dhivehivantha’ or ‘Maldivian’ music.
