Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa celebrates World Oceans Day, Global Wellness Day
Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has organised two full days of events to commemorate World Oceans Day and Global Wellness Day.
A global event celebrated annually on 8 June, World Oceans Day honours the ocean, which connects us all. This year’s theme is the prevention of plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean.
The Blue Journeys dive and activity centre at Hadahaa organised a day of events to help raise awareness amongst guests and associates.
The first event of the day was held at Laabaadhoo, an uninhabited island that is 10 minutes away from the resort. A team of 20 associates spent three hours clearing marine debris on the island. In the afternoon, two teams of associates and guests went snorkelling around the entire house reef, to remove debris and help maintain a healthy and clean house reef.
The day ended with a screening of Planet Ocean, a movie by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot, to recognise the bonds between humanity and the ocean.

Global Wellness Day is celebrated annually on every second Saturday of June, with the aim of raising awareness in living a healthier and better life.
To mark this day on June 9, Hadahaa’s Vidhun Spa put together a day of activities for guests and associates.
A healthy breakfast selection was served at The Dining Room for guests to start the day right.
Meanwhile, a morning session of Hatha Yoga took place at The Main Pool Deck. The practice of yoga introduces mindful movement, guided by steady breaths to find ease and comfort within the body without distraction. A detox drink was also served at the end of the session as refreshment.
In the afternoon, guests were invited to participate in a healthy cooking class by Sous Chef Luca. Guests had a hands-on experience creating a vegetarian burger made of potato, beetroot, rice and quinoa served with tofu “mayonnaise”.
Guests and associates then joined an evening session of Aqua Yoga. The pool session of yoga helps gain maximum stretching and toning of muscles while in the water. The exercise and deep breathing helps to relax and at the same time strengthen core muscles.
Guests were also treated to more pampering time at the spa as a complimentary 30-minute foot reflexology was added at the end of their treatment.
Tucked away from the teeming resorts of the dense northern atolls on a private island in Gaafu Alif Atoll, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has more than 30 pristine dive sites to explore, all filled with rich marine life, including resident turtles and black-tip sharks. Diving enthusiasts will be spoilt at Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa as the resort boasts pristine waters, owing to its ongoing conservation efforts, which include banning motorised water sports and coral reef monitoring.
Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa currently features 50 villas — 36 on land and 14 over the ocean. Whether nestled within the island’s tropical greenery or elevated above the water, the villas are steps away from an idyllic beachfront, giving guests direct access to this area or the house reef. All spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that lead to a private deck, with some villas inclusive of a private plunge pool.
The resort offers luxurious amenities, a host of recreational activities, and relaxing and rejuvenating treatments.
Since the five-star resort welcomed its first guests in 2009, it has undergone several refurbishments to offer guests a rare escape to a barefoot luxury experience. Most recently, it has launched two new luxury villa categories, including the resort’s two-bedroom family villas and villas with deluxe private pools.

Dhigali Maldives closes festive season with dynamic New Year’s Eve party
The festive season at Dhigali Maldives concluded on a vibrant and memorable note, offering guests a series of celebrations that blended tradition, creativity, and island spirit. From a uniquely Maldivian take on Santa’s arrival to thematic experiences inspired by the elements, the resort transformed into a setting designed for joy and togetherness.
Christmas Eve brought guests to Capers, where a traditional buffet featuring a wide range of global flavours was accompanied by live music that set the festive tone. On Christmas Day, Santa Claus made his entrance not by sleigh but aboard a traditional bokkura, a gesture that delighted families gathered along the shoreline.
In the days leading up to New Year’s Eve, Dhigali Maldives presented a programme themed around “The Four Elements of Nature.” The series began on 27 December with Earth, featuring a jungle trail, grounded yoga sessions, and spa treatments. On 28 December, the celebrations moved to East for Water, highlighted by a floating bar and zorb ball acrobats performing across the pool. Air followed on 29 December with an aerial silk performance on the beach, and Fire brought the energy to a peak on 30 December with traditional Bodu Beru drumming and a fire dance illuminating the night sky.
The festivities culminated on New Year’s Eve at East Beach, where all four elements converged for an immersive celebration. Fire dancers, live performers, and a pyrotechnic display lit up the sky in vibrant colours. Hungarian DJ Regán Lili headlined the night with a set described as electric, her soundscapes resonating across the island and drawing guests to the dance floor as they welcomed the new year. It marked a striking finale to a season of celebration at Dhigali Maldives.
