Celebrity couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are in Maldives for their honeymoon.

The couple, who wed for the second time in a grand wedding ceremony in the South of France last month, is currently enjoying their honeymoon at Soneva Fushi resort in Baa atoll.

“Paradise, such a magical place,” Turner wrote of the destination on Instagram, sharing three new photos of her husband whilst on the trip. Jonas also took to Instagram to share photos and a video from their dreamy-looking vacation, captioning his post as, “I found happiness #discoversoneva.”

Soneva Fushi is owned and operated by world-leading eco-luxury resort operator Soneva.

In 1995, the award-winning luxury resort Soneva Fushi set the standard for all desert island barefoot luxury hideaways in the Maldives. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi pairs Robinson Crusoe fantasy with intelligent luxury.

Sixty-two private villas with their own stretch of beach are hidden among dense foliage within touching distance of a pristine coral reef. Intuitive service is provided by Mr./Ms. Friday butlers.

Highlights include the open-air Cinema Paradiso, counting Saturn’s rings in the high-tech Observatory, the home-made chocolate and ice cream rooms, five hundred wines to choose from, six different restaurants and countless destination dining options. In November 2015, Soneva launched a floating villa concept, Soneva in Aqua, a treasure trove children’s Den and a multi-purpose facility encompasses a glass gallery, boutique and studio where guests can learn the art of glass blowing.

If the experiences are magical, the philosophy is simple: No news, no shoes. No pretensions either.

Jonas and Turner are not new to the Maldives. In February 2018, they vacationed at the award-winning private island retreat of Coco Privé where they celebrated Turner’s 22nd birthday and their engagement.

Jonas and Turner originally tied the knot in a small ceremony in Las Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards in April. They hosted a destination wedding in the South of France in late June, surrounded by family, including Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, and friends like Maisie Williams, Diplo, and Wilmer Valderrama.

Turner made her professional acting debut as Sansa Stark on the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones in 2011, which brought her international recognition and critical praise. For her performance, she has received several nominations for Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, as well as a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Supporting Young Actress in a TV Series.

The English actress has since starred in the television film The Thirteenth Tale (2013), and made her feature film debut in Another Me (2013). She has also starred in the action comedy Barely Lethal (2015) and played a young Jean Grey in the X-Men film series (2016-2019).

Jonas rose to fame as a member of the pop rock band the Jonas Brothers, alongside his brothers Kevin and Nick. The group released their debut studio album It’s About Time through the Columbia label in 2006 After signing with Hollywood Records, the group released their self-titled second studio album in 2007, which became their breakthrough record. The band became prominent figures on the Disney Channel during this time, gaining a large following through the network: they appeared in the widely successful musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010) as well as two of their own series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).

After the Jonas Brothers officially parted ways due to creative differences, Jonas formed the funk-pop band DNCE in 2015, serving as the lead vocalist. The group saw the significant commercial success of their debut single “Cake by the Ocean”, which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US.

Patina Maldives hosts Chef Shannon Bennett for exclusive April residency

Published

on

From 1 to 5 April 2026, Patina Maldives, Fari Islands will host Shannon Bennett, one of Australia’s most recognised culinary figures and the creative force behind Belongil. The residency brings together a chef known for shaping dining as an emotional and reflective experience with a destination defined by perspective, creativity and purpose.

Bennett’s career extends beyond traditional notions of cooking. Through projects such as Vue de Monde and Belongil, he has explored dining as a medium for memory, connection and emotion, placing emphasis on experience rather than consumption. His approach centres on creating moments that remain with guests long after the meal has ended.

At Patina Maldives, the residency represents a convergence of shared values. Over five nights, guests are invited to take part in a limited series of dining experiences shaped by intention, curiosity and a sense of place. Rather than recreating Belongil in another setting, the programme evolves its philosophy, drawing inspiration from the natural rhythm and clarity of the Maldivian environment.

Commenting on the collaboration, Bennett said Belongil was conceived as more than a place to eat, but as a space for ideas, connection and lasting moments. He noted that Patina Maldives reflects a similar sense of purpose, adding that bringing his work into the island setting offered an opportunity to create experiences that feel grounded, honest and meaningful.

Patina Maldives continues to develop its identity by providing a platform for global creative voices to shape new conversations and perspectives. The residency with Bennett aligns with this approach, positioning cuisine as one element within a broader cultural and experiential narrative.

Tom Bray, Director of Lifestyle at Patina Maldives, said the resort exists to bring people closer to ideas, creativity and self-discovery. He added that welcoming Bennett reflects this philosophy, describing the residency as an experience designed to shift perspective rather than focus solely on gastronomy.

The residency is presented as an experience defined by intention rather than spectacle. Taking place over five nights on a single island, it brings together Patina Maldives and one of the culinary world’s most reflective minds for a programme shaped by presence, purpose and a sense of moment that cannot be replicated in the same way again.
