The property excels at crafting experiences and creating unforgettable memories and with the property being located in the northern most atoll in the Maldives, guests will find a lush, verdant island offering the utmost in privacy and sophisticated luxury.

One thing that sets this particular property apart from its competition is that it is has a second, completely secluded and uninhabited island that is available for guests to visit for the day or even for an overnight, castaway style escape!

New for 2013, Beach House Iruveli will be offering guests a selection of Morning, Sunset and Overnight Escapes to the deserted island of Govvafushi – perfect for couples and something that families will love. Guests will have time to enjoy the natural beauty of the island, tuck into delicious gourmet meals and enjoy the seclusion and privacy of their very own island escape.

Govvafushi is around 1sq hector in size and is just a seven minute transfer from the resort by boat. Dolphins frequent the waters between the islands so guests will often find they’ll have company on the journey over!

Beach House Iruveli has built a small accommodation offering on the island with open shower and beautiful landscaping out to the beach. The team have also spent time locating a few magical spots across the island where sunbeds and hammocks have been set up – guests will also find other accessories to keep them entertained and they’ll also be provided with a mobile phone (in case of emergencies).

The chefs at Beach House Iruveli will whip up bespoke picnics for guests with a large variety of canapés, sandwiches, bento boxes and drinks to choose from all of which will be served with beautiful cutlery made from seashells and coconut wood. For those staying overnight, guests will be treated to a traditional Maldivian Dinner on the beach that will include Malaafai (a traditional Maldivian meal) served with a chilled bottle of Champagne. This will be brought across to Govvafushi by staff and set up for guests to enjoy. Overnight guests will also be treated to breakfast before being transferred back to Beach House Iruveli.

Morning Castaway Escape and Sunset Castaway start from US$275pp, the Iruveli Full Day Castaway starts from US$450pp and for the more adventurous, the Sunset Overnight Castaway starts from US$550pp.

Maldives takes a stand for ocean preservation with Victor Ma’s conservation film

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has collaborated with Chinese celebrity Victor Ma and the Tiger Shark Residence, with support from the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) and the national airline, Maldivian, to create a short film that promotes global marine conservation. Filmed on Fuvahmulah Island, this project seeks to raise awareness about biodiversity and the urgent need for ocean preservation.

Victor Ma, a 28-year-old Chinese actor, singer, and curator, gained prominence as the runner-up in the 2017 talent show “The Coming One.” Since then, he has garnered significant acclaim for his original music, energetic performances, and genuine interactions with his audience. With over 16 million fans in China, Victor wields considerable influence in the realms of film, music, and entertainment, making him a key advocate for environmental causes.

Fuvahmulah Island, situated at the southern tip of the Maldives, is renowned among divers for its crystal-clear waters and rich marine biodiversity. In the film, Victor Ma dives alongside sharks, illustrating the harmonious relationship between humans and the underwater ecosystem. These compelling visuals showcase the ocean’s natural beauty and emphasise the importance of conservation efforts. The film also includes scenes of beach cleanups, highlighting the essential role of public involvement in protecting marine ecosystems.

With support from MMPRC, Maldivian facilitated the shoot by providing domestic flights and presenting equator-crossing certificates to the production team. This partnership underscores MMPRC and Maldivian’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental protection in the Maldives.

Victor Ma’s participation in this initiative is expected to enhance global awareness of marine conservation, inspiring collective action to safeguard marine biodiversity and promote a sustainable future for the oceans.

The Maldives has long been a leader in marine conservation, implementing initiatives such as the establishment of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, coral restoration projects, beach cleanups, and the protection of marine wildlife.
