MTCC Introduces Speedboat Services to Hulhumalé
Maldives Promotion House – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) recently announced that they have started speedboat services between capital city Malé and its island district Hulhumalé.
According to the Transport Services Department, the usual Ferry Terminals at Hulhumalé and Malé would be used as transportation hubs for the speedboat service.
“Initially the service will be provided as a trial. We are charging MVR 20 per person. A speedboat with a capacity of 17 passengers will travel between Malé and Hulhumalé every 30 minutes,” Transport Services Department Manager Adam Zaki said.
“A typical speedboat ride from Malé to Hulhumalé will take about seven minutes. We plan on increasing the number of speedboats depending on demand.”
MTCC also provides Airport Express speedboat services to the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in Hulhulé at the same cost.
