Constance Halaveli Maldives and Constance Moofushi Maldives have won multiple regional recognitions at the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Constance Moofushi secured the eighth place in the list of Top 10 Hotels in Maldives, ninth place in the list of Top 10 Luxury Hotels in Maldives, eighth place in the list of Top 10 Hotels for Service in Maldives, and third place in the list of Top 10 Hotels for Romance in Maldives.
Meanwhile, Constance Halaveli made it to the list of Top 10 Luxury Hotels in Maldives (10th place), Top 10 Hotels for Service in Maldives (seventh place), and Top 10 Hotels for Romance in Maldives (fifth place).
Designed to reflect the curved shape of a traditional Maldivian dhoni, Constance Halaveli Maldives is located in the North Male Atoll and is accessible by a 35-minute seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport. The resort offers beach and water villas, family villas and a presidential villa, which can include luxurious amenities of private terraces, plunge pools and more.
A range of superb fine wine-and-dining options are available, as the resort features five restaurants and bars, including the Asian and European fusion cuisine of Jing and Jahaz. A variety of traditional Japanese sushi rolls, sashimi and Maoki’s are served up at Kaika Sushi Bar, where guests can dine inside or on the terrace. Meeru provides beach dining for guests, where the remarkably white sand contrasts with the lush green forest of the island, complemented by the aqua blue ocean. Constance Moofushi, located in the South Ari Atoll and accessible by a 25-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport, strikes the balance between luxury and simplicity, while upholding ecological principles across the resort. A variety of beach, water and senior residences that make up the 110 villas throughout the resort embraces ecological thatched roofing. The interior embodies fresh and contemporary décor with the idyllic backdrop of the aqua lagoons of the Indian Ocean.
Two restaurants and two bars provide multiple options for a unique culinary experience tailored to all age groups. Alizée offers an à la carte menu and is situated only a few meters from the sea on the bleached sand, serving up freshly cooked food from a beach grill in a peaceful and casual atmosphere. Manta restaurant embraces a worldwide cuisine concept, where the main focus is the interaction between chefs and guests as they journey through the international buffet. The sand-floored restaurant extends out over the water, allowing guests to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape’s crystal-clear waters during their meal, adding to the ambiance.

Travellers’ Choice award winners were determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide.
In the 16th year of the awards, TripAdvisor has recognised 8,095 properties in 94 countries and eight regions worldwide. The hallmarks of Travellers’ Choice hotels winners are remarkable quality, service and value.
The awards celebrate hotel winners in the categories of Top Hotels Overall, Luxury, Bargain, Small, Best Service, B&Bs and Inns, Romance, Family and All-Inclusive. In addition, a new “Value for Money” hotel award category was created this year.

BBM, Lifebuoy empowers hygiene practices among Maldivian children
BBM, in collaboration with Lifebuoy, marked Global Handwashing Day 2024 with engaging activities aimed at instilling the habit of proper hand hygiene among Maldivian school children. Held on November 17th, the event continued the successful “H for Handwashing” campaign, blending education with creativity and fun.
The initiative featured info sessions, exciting games, and creative contests designed to teach children the importance of handwashing while giving them a hands-on understanding of the correct techniques. Activities ranged from reimagined board games like “Germs & Ladders” and “Handwashing Ludo” to interactive sessions that reinforced hygiene habits in an enjoyable way.
This campaign underscores BBM’s commitment to fostering healthier practices among the younger generation, contributing to a healthier and more hygienic Maldives. COO of BBM, A.V.S. SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS to introduce 6 resorts in Maldives
SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS has announced the first phase of its plan to develop six resorts in the Maldives. Co-founded by CEO Laith Pharaon, the company aims to establish a hospitality model based on personalised service, artistic design, and a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
The initial two resorts are set to open in South Malé Atoll in 2025 and 2026, with each property featuring unique experiences. All resorts will adhere to a shared philosophy of tailoring stays to individual guest preferences.
Speaking about the company’s approach, Pharaon highlighted the focus on enhancing the guest experience by prioritising time, space, and freedom. He stated that removing unnecessary elements allows the company to deliver a guest journey aligned with expectations.
Director of Operations Marc Gussing shared insights into the planned offerings, which include personalised services beginning before guests arrive. Gussing, with nearly 15 years of experience in the Maldives, emphasised the aim to cater to guests seeking customised experiences that align with their preferences.
SIX & SIX has outlined its commitment to sustainability through ambitious environmental and social goals. The resorts will incorporate solar power, zero-waste practices, support for local produce, reef rehabilitation projects, and community programmes. These efforts aim to preserve the Maldives’ natural environment and contribute to its local communities.
The first resort, RAH GILI MALDIVES, will open in late 2025. Located in South Malé Atoll, the resort is near a dolphin sanctuary and will offer 74 pool villas, including 38 overwater options. Villas will range from 120 to 200 square meters, each featuring private pools. Guests will have access to dining options, cultural activities, and social spaces.
In 2026, DHON MAAGA MALDIVES will follow as an ultra-luxury resort. The property will include 31 overwater and 25 beach villas, with sizes ranging from 250 to over 400 square meters. Features include private pools, wellness facilities, and fine dining. The resort also plans to offer private-jet transfers and a wine cellar, aiming to deliver exclusive experiences.
