Centara Grand Opens Training Institute

They recently opened a training institute in the resort to prepare the youth for a career in the hospitality industry. The Centara Institute of Resort Management Studies was inaugurated by the Youth Minister of Maldives, Hassan Latheef. Some 14 students have already been selected for training at the institute.
The newly opened institute will act as a branch of the National University’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies. The trainees are selected from the neighbouring local communities and the courses will last for a period of six months. According to the resort the institute will teach modules on food and beverages and housekeeping.
“During their courses, they will get practical training as well. They will also be taught French language. After the students complete their courses they don’t have to work at Centara either. They can work anywhere they want,” Director of Human Resources at Centara Grand, Mohamed Solih Didi said.
