World Travel Awards Announces 2012 Nominees, Maldives Tops Again

 

Maldives Promotion House – The World Travel Awards has announced the top hotel nominees from around the world, who are competing for the prestigious awards in 2012. Praised as the Oscars of the Travel Industry, the World Travel Awards bring together a collection of best hotels and resorts all over the world.

As always Maldives and many of its resorts have been nominated for some of the grandest awards. This year Maldives will compete with popular tropical destinations like, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion Island and Madagascar.

As a destination, Maldives was nominated for Indian Ocean’s Leading Cruise Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Honey Moon Destination, and Indian Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board awards.

Among other awards for which Maldives was nominated for, Ibrahim Nasir International Airport was nominated for Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport award, and The Malé Commercial Harbour was nominated for the Indian Ocean’s Leading cruise port award. Inner Maldives Holidays and Vermillion International Maldives were nominated for the The Indian Ocean’s Leading Travel Agency award. Universal Resorts of Maldives was also nominated for the Indian Ocean’s Leading Water Villa Group award.
