STO to Construct Five Star Hotel in Hulhumalé

Maldives Promotion House – According to STO, the construction of the five star hotel in Hulhumalé will begin within two months after the relevant agreements have been signed. Managing Director of STO Shahid Ali said that the five star hotel will have a bed capacity of 500 beds and that the hotel management will be assigned to an American company, Carlson Group.

“A contractor has already been assigned for the project. The required agreements will be signed within this month. We will probably be able to begin construction within one and a half months. We hope to finish construction within 18 months of the agreement,” Shahid said.

The agreement between STO and Carlson Group was signed in 2008. However, the project was delayed due to financial issues raised by Carlson Group.
