Cocoon Maldives unveils Maldives first open air design gym
Cocoon Maldives has opened the first open air design gym in the Maldives.
Arguably one of the world’s most beautiful gyms, the Tree of Wellbeing is located under a canopy of lush tropical trees, overlooking the beach and the shimmering azure lagoon.
The Tree of Wellbeing is provided by MyEquilibria, a groundbreaking new concept of physical fitness based on instinctive body movements. At first glance, the Tree of Wellbeing looks more like a work of art than a place for exercise.
Engineered around the biomechanics of instinctive training, the Tree of Wellbeing was created by innovative designer Vito Di Bari.
Vito is an innovative designer who is changing the world through his cutting edge design solutions. He has been defined as one of the three most important futurists in the world, and uses scientific methods to develop creative solutions based on next generation technologies and the newest materials, aimed to increase the quality of our everyday lives.
“As soon as I saw the MyEquilibria installation, I immediately fell in love with it,” Alex Azzola, the Managing Director of Cocoon, was quoted in a statement, as saying.
“It has an incredible six metre tree-like design, which creates a unique open air space. Cocoon is the first design hotel in the Maldives, and so it’s natural that we have the first open air design gym in the Maldives.”
Regular exercise and contact with nature is an easily-accessible, always-available form of preventive and restorative medicine. It is known to reduce anxiety and depression, decrease stress, while increasing energy and immunity.
Cocoon Maldives, located in Ookolhufinolhu Island in the northern Lhaviyani atoll, blends the best of Italian design with the Maldives’ stunning natural beauty. The five-star resort, which officially opened in March, houses 150 villas that are exclusively designed by Lago, one of Italy’s finest design firms.
The resort, accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport, features three restaurants and two bars offering a variety of cuisines from around the world and romantic dining experiences.
The Cube Spa at Cocoon Maldives, meanwhile, is located in the heart of the island to ensure maximum privacy and intimacy, and offers variety of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments with qualified masseurs from Bali.
