Banyan Tree Maldives Plants a New Coral Garden
Maldives Promotion House – The guests at Banyan Tree’s resorts in the Maldives has sponsored and planted a new coral garden.
A champion of environmental preservation, the Banyan Tree Marine Lab preserves the resort’s surrounding coral reef and marine life. The programmes that have already been initiated include assisting the growth of reefs, removal of corallivores and promotion of coral growth.
Banyan Tree’s coral garden conservation initiative follows the recent mass coral spawning recorded for the 8th year running at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. The coral gardens are part of the resort’s long running programme to assist the robustness of the reefs surrounding the resort and thus reduce the island’s sensitivity to erosion in the face of climate change.
