Cocoon Maldives to host second International Kite Festival with three world champions

Cocoon Maldives has announced plans to host a second International Kite Festival in Maldives with celebrated kite flying champions from around the world.

Continuing from the success of the inaugural festival in 2017, Cocoon Maldives will welcome back Italian kite flying champion Edy Angelino for this year’s festival, which will be held from September 28 to October 4 at three different venues. Eddy will be joined by Brazilian champion Guilherme Linares Palau and Daniel Y. Wu from China.

Organised in association with the official tourism promotion body Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the first session will take place at the Cricket Stadium in capital Male on September 28, with the second session being held in island of Hinnavaru in Lhaviyani atoll on October 4.

During these sessions, residents will get the unique opportunity to see live kite flying demonstrations by the world-renowned kite flying champions. Attendees will get free goodies, whilst a lucky draw will select a winner from each session to receive a complimentary holiday at Cocoon Maldives.

Meanwhile, Cocoon Maldives will host a Kite Exhibition Week from September 28 to October 3. Open to all in-house guests, this exhibition will showcase the kite imprints used by Eddy, Guilherme and Daniel, and feature kite flying sessions.
