Dusit Thani Maldives’ Benjarong shines at World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2018

Benjarong at Dusit Thani Maldives has taken home the Indian Ocean continent award for Thai Cuisine at this year’s World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Presented at a gala ceremony on July 14 at the Galgorm Resort and Spa in Northern Ireland, this award reinforces Benjarong’s reputation for authentic and delicious Thai food, as well as reflecting the entire team’s commitment to service and culinary excellence.

Benjarong is the resort’s the signature overwater Thai restaurant, taking diners to the ‘Land of Smiles’ with authentic delicacies reflecting Royal Thai cuisine. Authentic delicacies and touches of antique Thai elements are tastefully infused into the modern interiors, complete with Maldivian design twists.

Thai-style lobster, soft shell crabs, shrimp cakes, crispy reef fish and roasted duck, along with a selection of grilled seafood and the chef’s special signature dishes are just some of the selections that bring Dusit Thani’s Thai heritage to life in the Maldives.

“I am extremely proud of the entire kitchen and service team at Benjarong for bringing our signature Thai restaurant to award-winning levels,” Reinhold Johann, General Manager at Dusit Thani Maldives, was quoted in a statement, as saying.

“It is a true reflection of their hard work and dedication to providing genuine guest experiences.”

The World Luxury Restaurant Awards inspire excellence and highlight special features of restaurants, increasing global competition and ultimately raising the level of food quality and standards of service in the luxury restaurant industry. Voting is based on the food experience as a whole, combined with aspects of service excellence, presentation, quality and menu choices.

Dusit Thani Maldives offers 94 villas and residences, along with three restaurants, two bars, one of the Maldives’ largest infinity pools and the award-winning Devarana Spa. The resort is surrounded by white sandy beaches, a turquoise lagoon and a rich house reef.

The resort is located on Mudhdhoo island in Baa atoll, the Maldives’ first and only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, just 35 minutes by seaplane from the main Velana International Airport.
