Tigerair to launch flights to Maldives

Maldives.net.mv – Tigerair has confirmed that it will soon add Maldives to its growing network.

Commencing 24 January 2014, the airline will operate four weekly flights between Singapore and Malé, capital of the Republic of Maldives.

To celebrate the launch of the new Singapore-Malé route, Tigerair will be offering a special USD107 promotional fare, inclusive of taxes.

 This promotion is available for booking through 1 December 2013, and is valid for travel between 24 January 2014 and 20 September 2014.

“If you haven’t visited Maldives, you really owe it to yourself to make that trip because you will love the place,” said Mr Alexander Knigge, Chief Commercial Officer at Tigerair, “It is a perfect holiday destination regardless of whether you are taking a honeymoon, a family vacation or treating yourself to a much needed break from your busy life. We are very excited to be the first and only no-frills airline to fly to Maldives from Singapore.”

 Tigerair, is a low-cost airline headquartered in Singapore. It operates services to regional destinations in Southeast Asia, Australia, China and India from its main base at Singapore Changi Airport. Tigerair currently flies to 28 destinations in ten countries around the region.

The move also makes it the first budget carrier to offer such flights from Singapore. The only other airline currently offering direct flights from Singapore to the Maldives is Singapore Airlines.
