A Home Away From Home in Maldives
Maldives Promotion House – It is uncommon, rare even, for the opportunity of buying a private residence to outshine the hyperbole. In the case of the very few residences at Soneva Fushi, Six Senses first and iconic resort in the Maldives, it really is a unique proposition to own a small slice of beauty and privacy.
Opened in 1995, Soneva Fushi is the flag-ship of Six Senses fourteen properties. A remote (but accessible) desert island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, it was the first ‘barefoot luxury’ resort and a pioneer of eco tourism. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, operated in complete empathy with the environment and offering every level and beyond of five star luxury, an agreement with the Maldivian government means that Soneva Fushi now has the pleasure to offer a few private residences for sale which range from USD 4 to 15 million.
The first ever private residence in the Maldives, Soneva Fushi’s Jungle Reserve has been sold to a long-time repeat client from France. It is being used by its new owner but is also available for guests to rent. As such, it is a fine example of the opportunities available with villa sales, being not only a home away from home but a source of income at a time of low yields of cash in bank. There is a guaranteed net yield of up to 8 percent on certain residences within the Six Senses Private Residence portfolio of properties.
The Jungle Reserve 3,535 square metres
Soneva Fushi’s ultimate, one-of-a-kind villas occupy the island’s prime sunrise side, right on the door step of our lagoon’s most vibrant snorkelling and are tucked away on their own stretch of beach in tangles of palm dense forest. Long loved and much sought after, this uncommon escape built of bamboo and other organic materials under traditional thatch roofs has been revitalised to improve upon its already legendary reputation.
Dramatic indoor living, a dining and dreaming area are linked by tropical open living spaces, romantic terraces, scenic decks and idyllic walkways which surround your private seaside swimming pool. In your pleasure palace at the Indian Ocean’s edge, you’ll also find two additional spacious bedrooms for family or friends, modern kitchen with wine cellar, personal gym plus a dedicated spa pavilion with sauna and steam facilities and a massage suite. When all that fun is done, retreat to your single level master villa with indoor and outdoor bathrooms surrounded by tropical gardens. We’ll leave you to discover our all time favourite rain shower hidden in the jungle.
Soneva Fushi will be home to just a handful of private residences, which will be built following the Soneva strenuous adherence to environmental support, using only natural and sustainable materials, locally sourced where possible. The Jungle Reserve for example houses a coconut palm tree, growing through 2 levels, around which the dramatic villa was built, as cutting the living tree was not an option. Above ethical policies, however, the new villas will be bespoke, designed to owners’ wishes.
Each villa is fully serviced by the Soneva Fushi team, including a 24/7 butler service, complimentary transfers to and from the resorts and full access to all the island’s facilities, with special ‘owners rates’ being offered in the restaurants, bars and shop.
Six Senses is also offering private residences for sale at Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives which range from USD 3 to 7 million.
