Crossroads, Maldives’ first integrated tourist destination, opens
First phase of Crossroads Maldives, the first integrated tourist destination in the Maldives, has opened.
Crossroads, a deeply sustainable development owned by Thailand’s leading developer Singha Estate, encompasses nine idyllic islands fringing the Emboodhoo Lagoon in the South Male Atoll. Three of the islands have been used as the first phase of the project, encompassing two resorts, as well as The Marina @ Crossroads — an 800-metre lifestyle area and beach walk which features retail, entertainment and dining outlets.

Since a perfect vacation is not complete without one-of-a-kind dining experiences, Crossroads has brought a vibrant and dynamic dining experience to the Maldives with an expansive selection that caters to both local and foreign visitors alike. The destination houses not only local restaurants, which showcase authentic Maldivian cuisine, but also a number of world-famous restaurants serving international dishes, including Hard Rock Café Maldives, Ministry of Crab, and Nihonbashi, to name a few.
Wherever they come from, guests of all ages can expect to be blown away by the exciting retail and dining experience waiting for them at Crossroads.
Phase one of the integrated destination also features two lifestyle hotels, SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, both of which have direct access to the extensive facilities at The Marina @ Crossroads. These include a 30-berth marina, the Junior Beach Club and Camp, the Crossroads Event Hall, the Maldives Discovery Centre, the Marine Discovery Centre, and a world-class beach club by Cafe Del Mar.
A Curio Collection by Hilton hotel, SAii Lagoon Maldives is an original and inspiring resort that features a series of rooms and villas, including overwater pool villas, as well as world-class dining. Resort guests have access to extensive water sports, cultural activities and wellness at The Marina @ Crossroads.
Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, meanwhile, features 178 rooms, suites and villas, plus family-friendly experiences and Hard Rock’s branded concepts, including a Hard Rock Cafe, Rock Spa, and two Rock Shops showcasing merchandise and music memorabilia.
A dedicated mobile application has also been launched, allowing guests to plan and manage their trips with ease. With easy access to the facilities and services available in the five main areas for leisure and activities on the island — Dining, Shopping, Events, Exploration and Rooms — guests can explore and modify their experience as they wish. Reservations for rooms, restaurants, transportation and other services are also available on the app. The registration is free and available for everyone who is interested in visiting Crossroads.
With Crossroads revolutionising the tourism landscape of the Maldives with a well-crafted selection of diverse experiences, the island nation will no longer be defined merely as a honeymoon destination for the newlyweds. Whether you are five, fifteen, forty or sixty-four, Crossroads is setting your and your families’ comforts and enjoyment as its top priority.

Alila Kothaifaru Maldives aligns festive events with World of Care commitments
Alila Kothaifaru Maldives will mark the festive season with a programme that combines charitable initiatives with its sustainability commitments. Guests will be invited to donate, run, paddle and plant in support of local community and environmental projects, alongside dining experiences that highlight Maldivian produce.
Under its World of Care commitments, the resort has adopted initiatives to improve the school experience for children at R. Maduvvari School on the neighbouring island and to protect the surrounding marine ecosystem. Participation in the season’s activities will contribute directly to these programmes.
From 25 December 2025 to 7 January 2026, guests may purchase wrapped gifts from a Christmas Charity Surprise Tree, with all proceeds directed to the resort’s charitable causes.
On 27 December 2025, Euro Divers will lead a coral-planting session within the house reef. The activity forms part of an ongoing conservation effort to strengthen reef resilience by increasing coral diversity through the careful planting of hardy coral fragments.
Seasalt restaurant will host a “Boat to Table” beachfront barbecue on 28 December 2025 and 4 January 2026. The buffet will feature seafood such as giant tuna sashimi, ceviche and grilled fish prepared from the day’s catch supplied by local fishermen, reflecting the resort’s focus on local sourcing and support for the Raa Atoll community.
A Charity Kayak Race will take place on 30 December 2025 and 5 January 2026. Entry will be by voluntary donation, with funds supporting enhancements at the R. Maduvvari pre-school.
On 2 January 2026, the programme will conclude with a Charity Island Fun Run around the island. Branded t-shirts will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the resort’s community initiatives.
